So my computer just died the day before PAX. Less than 2 weeks after I got it back from repairs. Guys, do yourselves a favor and avoid Sager laptops.
I'll trade my BYOC pre-reg pass for a normal pre-reg pass+$10.
That is how much the BYOC was, right? $10 extra? I'm charging whatever the BYOC part of the pass cost.
First person to POST IN THIS TOPIC saying they want it gets it. I'll PM you my cellphone number and stuff so we can meet up and make the swap before PAX opens.
It's a Sager 9880. I sent it in for repairs awhile ago because some electronics fried and it wouldn't even turn on. When I got it back, after being on for a little while the CAPS lock, number lock, and scroll lock keys would all light up and begin blinking, and then in 10 seconds it would shut down.
This happened more and more often until it became impossible to get into Windows before a shutdown. And now, when I turn it on, the monitor doesn't even work.
Tech support is emailing me a shipping label to send it in, but that doesn't do me much good for PAX. I just can't believe it died so soon after they replaced the entire motherboard.
Sounds like they stiffed you with a refurb motherboard the first time. Put a note in there next time saying no refurbs. I'm assuming it's still under warrantee which is why you're sending it in and out, otherwise I'd say buy a new board yourself and do it yourself.

BTW, a lot of Sager systems are just a rebrandings of Clevo.

Responded to your PM.
Yep, it's under waranty for another month or so.
