Anyone meeting for lunch Friday?

edited August 2006 in PAX Archive
This is my first time going to PAX. Just wondering if there was a group meeting for lunch somewhere before going in at 2pm on Friday. I'd like to meet some other PAX'rs and party it up.

Listen. And understand. That Misterioso is out there. He can't be bargained with. He can't be reasoned with. He doesn't feel pity, or remorse, or fear. And he absolutely will not stop, ever, until you are dead..drunk.

I think most of us will be waiting in line.

Why, does it take a long time to get in?

Not really. But there's still a huge line.

The line moves very quickly once they open the doors. But if you want to be the first in, you'd better get there well before 2:00.

It doesn't matter that much. It's just for being "WOOO, FIRST!"

After they open the doors, the line is gone in like 10 minutes, tops.

*sigh* Curse my lack of a DS or PSP... Ah well, I suppose I could bring my Hsu and Chan comics to occupy my time in line... Good ol' Hsu and Chan...

Do you recommend coming at 1:45, 1:15, or 12:45? (Yay bus schedule!)
Currently planning on 1:15. I just want to be in the first half of the line.

By the way, <3 to Doc for busmonster.com. As a daily bus commuter in Seattle, wow, that site is amazing!

I was planning on getting there around 1-1:30pm. Don't really care if I am the first one inside, I don't see the point :)

I imagine you'll be on the first side of the building.

Last year I showed up around noon and I was about halfway around the second side of the building.

Ok, for anyone that is not planning on standing in line for several hours and wants to grab a bite before hand, my buddy and I will be going to Bellevue Square at noon. Shoot me an email if you feel like joining up.

I'd rather put an open DS case at my feet and hope people toss change in it.

This guy hasn't seen the line. It'd take forever to get everybody in, single file, and check bags. They're too busy checking for badges and handing out swag.

Ha ha ha, duck, duck, goose.

No, this is my first time going, I've never seen the line before.

Lots of places check bags before allowing you to enter, with larger turnouts than PAX is going to have.

I'm flying into SeaTac at 12. In an attempt to get this thread back on its original track, does anyone want to grab lunch around that time? My friend's not getting in until 1, and I'm not getting in line until he arrives.

I'm just gonna be there with my laptop, either showing off what videos I made, or doing some artwork. *twirls around a pencil on his fingers, and stabs himself in the eye....intentional? Maybe.*
