Help?

I think this is the right place for this, but if not feel free to redirect and heckle me as appropriate :)

My game is running extremely slowly. It was a little laggy since the start, but it's gotten progressively worse to the point I get royally owned every battle because it takes so long to get the pointer to move and properly select things. Also, the choppy frame-by-frame graphics that result are taking a lot of the enjoyment out of blowing the guts out of things.

I'm not particularly computer-savvy, but it seems like I have more than enough space/memory to run the game, and I've had no problem running similar-sized ones on this computer before. I've tried things in-game like reducing the graphics quality to make it run faster, but there hasn't been much improvement. Could anyone please recommend a solution, or perhaps a system requirement I've overlooked that's making gameplay so slow?

Do a control Alt Del - what's your CPU usage at before you boot up the game?

    Are other programs running?

Are any programs you have running set to be "Always on top"

CPU usage shifts between 0-2%. To my knowledge, I don't have any other programs running when I boot up the game, or set to be on top in that case.

Please email support@hotheadgames.com to start the official process. However, since you posted here, let's see if we can help you and others. Let's start with the basic specs. Do you know the following:

What version of Windows? Vista? XP?
What cpu do you have? Intel P4, Intel Core Duo? AMD X2?
What video card do you have? NVidia, Intel, ATI?
How much system memory? 1 GB, 2GB?
What resolution are you running the game in? 1024x768 or?

If you go to the Start menu and choose Run, type in "Dxdiag" (without quotes). It should give you a summary of your system that will give us the info that we need. Please include the model numbers ie. ATI X700 or Nvidia 7400

Often the slow down that we have seen has been video card capabilities or drivers.

I'm running Windows XP, with a AMD Sempron Processor 3000+ CPU, and ATI Radeon Xpress 200 Series video card. I've got 1GB total RAM installed, but it only shows up as 958mb in the specs for some reason, and the game resolution at full screen 1024x768. I recently sent off an e-mail with the following specs:

Operating System: Windows XP Home Edition (5.1, Build 2600) Service Pack 2 (2600.xpsp_sp2_gdr.070227-2254)
    Language: English (Regional Setting: English)
    System Manufacturer: Compaq Presario 061
    System Model: EP016AA-ABA SR1601NX NA540
BIOS: Phoenix - Award BIOS v6.00PG
    Processor: AMD Sempron(tm) Processor 3000+, MMX, 3DNow, ~1.8GHz
    Memory: 958MB RAM
Page File: 376MB used, 832MB available
    Windows Dir: C:\WINDOWS
    DirectX Version: DirectX 9.0c (4.09.0000.0904)
    DX Setup Parameters: Not found
    DxDiag Version: 5.03.2600.2180 32bit Unicode

    Thanks for your help!
