Help me decide on a new haircut

So after a few years of blundering through the time I undeniably need a haircut I've decided to be a little more aware of my appearance. I can't really decide what to cut my hair into as the only haircuts I've ever really had was to chop it down, then let it grow out until it was too long then chop it down again. Every time I would go to get it cut it would always be something I disliked.

I'm a 6 ft 1, 155 lbs, 17 years old male. I wear glasses on and off, for driving and sometimes in the classroom though I plan on switching to contacts later this year.

This is last October, three months after a haircut when it grew out into something I thought decent

This is last December, probably my favorite hairstyle I've had so far. Easy to maintain, I could do multiple things with it, looked decent most of the time.

This is last March. It is currently today grown out to a point where I lazily hook the bangs behind my ear, a sign it needs to be cut.

If I don't decide anything new I will fall back on the second hairstyle. I just don't know what to say to the stylist that would produce that kind of style. I wouldn't mind something that takes some maintenance. So what do you think would go good on me?

TLDR: Help me brainstorm ideas for a new hairstyle for me!

Any input is appreciated.

The style in the second photo suits you nicely in my opinion; if you wanted something a little different you could always have the same style as in the photo but a little shorter so you could use some wax or similar product to give it some texture. Kind of like this if you get me.

And as for knowing what to say to the stylist, I've found taking in a picture makes everything a lot easier. There are plenty of pages online which show photos of different hairstyles for men (if you want a few links just PM me). Saying that though, don't be afraid to ask the stylist's opinion. It's their job after all, and they can guide you as to regards with your hair type or how to create the style you want once you leave the shop.
