I remember when Spider-Man 3 came out people were saying it was racist and I was all "n-word please" and then I watched it and walked away from the theatre all "god damn was that film racist"

    I'll bite.

    Racist why?

I was pretty pissed off at what they did to Cyke, but I'm one of the few Cyclops fans in existance.

I mean, off-screen even, what the hell.

Cyclops is, actually, my favorite comic book hero. Of all time. I am well aware I am almost completely alone in this.

X3 was, to me, nothing more than a repeated kick to the crotch.

I wasn't the least bit excited for a Wolverine movie. Then they had to put Deadpool (my #2) in it... now I can't wait...

I'm a big Cyclops fan as well and I got the same reaction from X3. I had been skeptical about this one, but I'll bite for Gambit and Deadpool.

I hated spidey 3 because the fucker started dancing while under the influence of the symbiote.

Here's where I really started to hate Spidey 3:

Venom: Hey Sandman, let's team up.
    Sandman: Ok.

Sandman had no idea who Venom was, had no motivation to team up against them, yet did so without requiring any real convincing. I think there was something else wrong with that scene but I've mostly blocked the entire movie from my memory.

    A lot of us can't.

In terms of respect to source material/preceding films, writing and plot structure, it was a complete mess. The acting was lackluster (not terrible), the casting inappropriate. It didn't feel like anyone involved read the script more than once.

I'm not gonna go after you for having enjoyed it because I love plenty of bad movies. But if you really don't see where the "hate" comes from, I don't think we watched the same film.

I remember being so completely psyched for X3, the trailers looked pretty awesome. But i hadn't really read about Singer and Hayter being out of the picture, if i knew that i probably would have had more of a clue.

Oh, if yous haven't watched the gametrailers comicon 08 interview with Hayter yet, yous probably should.

    1. The vague combination of two plot lines that should never have touched. The cure, Magneto war, or the Phoenix whatever just pick one!

2.The complete disintegration of the X-men. Kill Cyke and Prof. Incapacitate Jean and the center of the team becomes wolverine lovable pycopath/ Maverick and Storm and character with absolutely no "Character" before now as played by the worst female actor ever to "grace" superhero movies. Who the fuck decided it was a good idea to give this bitch more money?

3.Destroyed Magneto's character from an extremest to someone willing to sacrifice everyone for his goal. Even when he didn't have to.

4.Plot holes like a gopher habitat.

The stupidest thing about spiderman 3 to me (well aside from all the retarded plot decisions) was that peter got shit on spiderman 2 and mary jane was a princess and she wasn't supposed to feel guilty, yet peter has good shit going for him and he can't enjoy it? Fuck you!

I was looking forward to watching the trailer. I love Ryan Reynolds and was pleasantly surprised to find out that Daniel Henney was playing Dave North. Always good to watch a movie and support a fellow yellow brother.

Now color me disappointed because Marvel cockblocked the trailers from me.

I think even with the plot and story issues a good director would have made it work. Although the cyclops thing was lil ridiculous. But just watching x2 vs x3. The fights and overall movie are much more intense. X3 just had a campy feel to it that was totally absent in x2.

Just... so much dissapointment in three hours...
I could list them. But I don't have the time or the humanity to do it.
    I'll never watch it again.
I would rather, to be frank, remove my legs with a shitty 70's electric knife, then use my Fibula as gouging tools to remove my eyes from the dark caves where they once remained. Once removed, I then place the eyes in a mixture of sand, rocks, and broken glass. From there, I'd blindly try to reinsert the eyes, the inner wall of my eye cavities being torn anew. Once the eyes are 'back in', I slowly and methodically drag my teeth along my forarm until I can slide the meat and skin of the bone like a glove. After that, I try to eat the arm-glove before I pass out in relief. As I lay dying in a pool of bodily fluids and body parts, my last thought would be, "Topher Grace as Venom? Were they high?"

The part about X3 that seemed bizzare to me was that Jean/phoenix killed scott, somthing that the 90's cartoon ceaselessly bludgeoned into my head was flat out impossible since jean is/was in love with the man. Hell, in the second arc of exiles, it took phoenix killing scott to convice blink and Co. that the only option available to the team was to kill the phoenix... which the tallus had informed them was there mission in the first place.

I actually really liked Grace as Venom/Brock. You got the feeling that if they had split the thing into two movies, with the first one being about Sandman and the creation of Veno, it would have been awesome.

No. Topher would have made a good Spiderman.
Brock is buff and wayy more of an asshole. Also, seeing this little guy who played Eric on That 70's Show's head come out of a velociraptor painted black RUINED Venom for me.
Venom in film seemingly will never be done justice.
Look, I like Grace. I think he's funny and a decent actor. But he's not Brock or Venom, not in the slightest.

Topher had no place being Venom, he was a good actor in S3 and can't be blamed for how terrible it was. But as a fan of the comic book spiderman he wasn't a great choice for Eddie Brock. Definitely agree that he could have pulled off Peter Parker though

Yeah, Grace was good in the film...just not a great Brock/Venom. Sincerely, I think the guy who played The Punisher (newest one) would have been a great fit, he has the blocky/cut face that Brock had.

Topher Grace was ultimate Eddie Brock. They basically based his personality in the comics off of the kind of sarcastic asshole Topher Grace is fantastic at playing. It was a 100% perfect match, just like Robert Downey Jr. for Tony Stark.

That said, if he toned down the being an asshole, Topher Grace would also be pretty decent as Spider-Man. Especially if they actually wrote him right. You know, with quips and the such.

I thought the whole point of Venom was that he was a sort of alternate, darkside Spiderman. Who better for the role, then, than a guy who could have easily played the Spiderman role?

I really don't see what the comic book characters being 'buff' has to do with it at all.

edit: Also, I liked the dancing because you're not supposed to think Peter is cool at that point. And it was, perhaps unintentionally, the only halfway entertaining thing in that movie's loooong middle stretch.

They're pretty much the same so Sabretooth resents Wolverine for getting the adamantium then fucking up Weapon X so that Sabretooth could'nt have unbreakable bones to.

I like Gambit, but how is he fitting in this timeline? Due to their mutant abilities Sabertooth and Wolverine age way slower than the average guy, so wasn't the Weapon X program like 10-15 yrs ago? If I remember right, Gambit is in his mid to late 20's.
