Nothing gets a crowd more riled up than a public proposal at an event of some sort.
I didn't like how his speech was about how proposals are an annual PAX thing now, and that thing he said about how he accepts her because the PAXers accept her was a bit odd. Still, it was pretty awesome.

Yeah, that bothered me too. As special as something is, it doesn't seem AS special when you admit that it has been done twice before.

No, he pretty much said what was described. I thought it sounded odd too. As though we collectively somehow approved of her and that made it OK. But, you know... he was probably really nervous and trying to think of something on the fly. Or maybe his rehearsed speech failed its saving throw.
