So I got back to work from a long meeting in time to have 2 minutes to make and send mine.
So what do I do? I misinterpret What belongs in the headline! (I put "A Number between 1 and 1,000,000" as the headline).
Yup, so I think I may go cry, lots. I would give all my future children, mother, a kidney, and possibly my soul to win an omeganaut spot.
Least there's always next year to not screw things up with my impatience.
Thanks for the chance though Khoo
Didn't Khoo say you wouldn't be penalized for the wrong subject, since the rule changed in the first few minutes?
Yeah, but I didn't enter a random number, I thought it was off the ticket number or confirmation number. I was wondering why mine was 2 million and the highest possible for the contest was 1,000,000. Such is the failure I endure...

Well you should be used to it (I mean if you live in Kent)

So instead of picking a number you thought it was based on your ticket number?
With an estimated 500 entries. If everyone picked randomly there would be about a number every 2k, which would unfortunately mean that 5k is not "incredibly close". I'm tempering my hopes, but hopefully it's just over. Unfortunately for me, I was the high-side of 500k, but my good friend Brian has the 498k number and could owe me a very tasty coke.

Make sure that coke has real sugar in it.

Yup, I didn't have enough time to clearly read through it. I jumped the gun, all my fault. And yes Faits...I live in Kent, but for the record I plan on moving to Kirkland where I work here soon. Kent is Epic Fail, lol.

Congrats, Brian. Please sign up. And use a cool name. Use numbers. and your favorite DBZ character mixed with your favorite FFVII character. and post anime pictures with funny captions instead of actual posts.
I'm now on the boards... Thank you all for your support. This means a lot to me. I'd like to thank Robert Khoo, Ando for his strategizing, my friends and family, and the U.S.A. Other countries I'd like to thank include Djibouti and Finland.
And sorry TNTTrooper and Kedri, I did answer my phone (although I had it on silent for at least 5 minutes after the number was announced, so it was pretty close).
Brian
I was gonna do 499,999... still wouldn't have won though!
That is exactly what I guessed. Still off by 1876. Curse that number, underscoring my failure. I'd consider it the worst thing to happen associated with 1876 since the Tilden-Hayes presidential dispute.
Gah, I saw the initial post saying to check back for the contest, then completely spaced when the time came. Oh, well--with school I wouldn't have had time to prepare myself anyway, although my husband is furious I didn't tell him about the contest for him to try. He's a gambler like that.
I'm kind of okay with not being an omeganaut. I mean, buttoneer, assassin, and having the SO there. And cosplaying (for the first time in my life). I'll be the superstar NEXT year.

Then I can go out drinking without worrying. I win.
I think THIS is incredibly close and, thus far, is the closest posted number.

Indeed he did say this thing. A lot of people stated they had put "Contest" or "The Contest" as their subject.

Or what if using four people to cover your bases is considered cheating...?
Brian Jo with his guess of 498,123!
Ando, you should get him on the boards.

Gonna go play the lottery now . . . I don't mind winning ALMOST all of that jackpot :-D
Congrats Brian!
498,123 is my new lucky number!
I couldn't agree more.
Not to mention it is 11PM, and not the 5:30 PM I want it to be.......
All hail the Hypno-Spode!
Damn you, Khoo.
This sucks.
All hail the Hypno-Spode!
