ITT I am remorseful (iPod Touch)

I got the damn thing Friday, and I dropped it today. There are now two very long scratches on the screen (they go from the lower left to the upper right, if you want a visual) and some smallish cracks in two of the corners (lower left and lower right).

Is there any hope of repair/replacement? (I'm guessing no on both counts, but I figured I'd put it to the forummind before I consign myself to Ugly iPod Sadnessl.)

Did you buy it with a credit card? Some cards extend the warranty as well as giving you insurance against damage or theft.

If it still works just live with it. It was inevitably going to get fucked up anyway.

Not true. I don't understand why people don't buy an invisible shield or BodyGuardz when they get these and other devices. I put one on mine, and now I carry it in my pocket with keys or whatever. No problems, all that gets scratched is the cover.

I don't know how this would work on a touch screen, but you can always use those screen repair kits? Might fuck it though, I dunno. I used Brasso to get scratches off my old ipod.

Two year old ipod, came up like this :

I guess it depends on how much you care about what it looks like. My 2-year-old nano is scratched all to shit but it works just fine which is all I care about because I don't look at it, I just listen to the music. It's probably less likely to be stolen because of how it looks as well. OP should look into the invisible shield stuff if he wants to prevent further wear and tear.

I don't think Brasso works on glass, does it?

    EDIT: Googling says it does...

Look at the picture guy! loooook. It totally did :P

I'm just worried about the touch screen though and sensitivity.

It took AGES. I'm talking hours (I did it by hand).

For what it's worth, the reason I didn't get a case with it was because I got it as part of the "macbook + free ipod" deal...I was concentrating more on picking up stuff that I would need for the computer than stuff that I would need for the Touch.

I'll definitely look into the case to avoid any further scratchin', and this Brasso stuff as well (my work filter is blocking the pictures, so it's hard to tell if you guys are being sarcastic or not. :P)

But that was plastic, the Touch is glass.

OP: Thing to remember about Brasso is it is an abrasive, so you better be damn sure it's something you want to do before you start (ie. find some other suckers that have tried it first).
