Does anyone know of a website where I can download ringtones for free? Mainly wanting to get video game ringtones, such as the Final Fantasy victory music and other such. Also one that has college fight songs or TV theme songs would be cool too.
Not a whole lot of free ones available. My company runs one (I'll be damned if I can remember the URL, I'm not really involved with it - but we are a mobile content provider) - I can track down the URL for you. It's all polyphonic stuff, though, if that matters. Not sure what the selection is on it.
If you want something of quality and you can't just copy stuff onto your phone using USB, then you may want to have a look at myxer.com. If you can get an mp3 of what you want, they have a tool where you can upload it, crop it to the part you want, and then they will deliver it to your phone for free.

Every verizon phone has a work around for free ringtones.*
1.) Take full length MP3 of song, cut using sound editing software of choice to around 30 seconds.
2.) Reduce Sound Quality to minimize file size. For a ring tone, you don't need uber quality. These are the settings I use:
3.) Attach sound file to email, and send it to [your number]@vzwpix.com, it should come attached to a picture message in your phone, then you can just select Options -> Save Ringtone/Sound/Whatever
* - If the source sound file is a MIDI instead of an MP3, skip to step 3. Almost always works.

What's a good sound editing software to use? Preferably something free and simple to use and isn't going to take up unneeded space on my HD.
Just figured I'd mention none of these "custom ringtone" sites you guys have posted are working for me. Phonezoo won't acknowledge my login from the wap.phonezoo.com site, and the myxertones I get a text with a link in it, follow the link and it gives me a "page cannot be displayed"

Didn't realize that phone would matter.

These days, I just do the same thing, but I put the ringtone on a MicroSD card instead of emailing it to myself.
the "no true scotch man" fallacy.
Click on ringtones then crreate your own.
Try that. You can use your own MP3's/WAV's and it let's you choose what section.
I got my final fantasy theme'd ringtones there, along with the MGS codec, mario bros. and zelda ringtones. Also made a Secret of Mana one too.
...Despite helping me realize that I'm a total dork, it hasn't let me down yet.
now i'm rockin to FF9 battle music, Chrono Cross - Radical Dreamers - Chrono Trigger - Frog's Theme. . .
All as ringtones/txt alerts/ and alarms
Go to VGMUSIC
If that is related at all to the ''crazy frog" stuff then I will have to fly to wherever you live and beat you to a bloody pulp.

You, my friend, want audacity.
The only irritating part is that you need to get the LAME dll yourself to encode MP3s, but they provide a nice easy page about that as well.
Is there any way to do this kinda cool stuff on a T mobile phone? I've got a cheapo samsung that plays "real sound" (IE not midi) ringtones
