Photoshop Joker (Ledger) Tutorial?

I've been perusing the net attempting to find a tutorial on how to turn a photo into a ledger-esque version of the Joker. Could anyone possibly be of assistance?

    Easiest way would probably be just to paint the makeup onto a new layer, erase it with a small grunge brush eraser for the parts where it's not pristine, then fiddle with the blend mode and opacity until it looks like makeup.
