Does Xbox Live Gold Come w/ new 360s?

So, some friends of mine got 360's, but they claim that they did not get a free month of Live Gold with them. Is this the case now? Or has it always been? Because I could have sworn I got a free month of Gold with mine back in November 06, but both of them seem to only have silver.

    Nope, some don't any more. all come with free silver memberships though.

    Uh, unless something's changed, you get a free month of gold everytime you register a new Live account.

    Just register for live and you'll be all good.

    also, Grand Theft Auto IV comes with a free month of Live Gold as well, if you were going to pick that one up anyway.
