Good Sound card with Optical Out

MonkeydryeMonkeydrye Registered User regular
I use my PC on my HDTV. Problem is, I currently can't play games using surround sound. So, I figured what I needed was optical out.

So, give me a good card that not only has optical out, but will make the process of hooking up to my TV surround sound system easy.

Fire away!

I have one of these, it's excellent. Got it hooked up to some Logitech set (Z5500 I believe?). Works like a charm in Vista, which is meant to be kind of a bitch when it comes to surround sound. It does DTS encoding or DD if you're into that.

Actually, the one Dunadan linked looks extremely similar (same chip), minus the upgradable OP-AMPs, but who in their right mind would actually use that feature?

    Razer Barracuda AC-1

I have this hooked up to my Z-680s (and the Barracuda HP-1s) and the sound is amazing. The actual chip is a C-media 8000 series, but modified. On par with the Auzentech and Asus Xonar, but mine was $50 (which is why I bought it over the others lol)
