I see Diablo III is coming out and ive already seen enough to know ill buy it, play the fuck out of it and die happy. Ive seen people post about how you go about this blackout deal, but with the popularity of something like Diablo how is this really accomplished? I can't swing a dead hippo without running into some diablo III shit, any tips?

When I was waiting for Halo 3, I did some avoidance of my own.
First, if you are a goon: Don't go to SA. I went as far as to edit my hosts.txt to prevent opening SA at all.
Second? Pretty much don't use the internet. check your email, maybe check some reputable news sites, but avoid the internet. It's just too easy to get spoilered.
Anyone notice how some things (mattresses and the copy machines in Highrise) are totally impenetrable? A steel wall, yeah that makes sense, but bullets should obliterate copy machines.
I don't know about you, but I always buy a bullet proof printer. Its a lot more expensive, but I think the advantages are apparent.

that hopeless eh? I only really frequent here and evil avatar.
Strangely enough I cant get any decent info about NCAA 09 that isnt filled with mouthbreathing:(
I had planned to do this for Half-Blood Prince (Haryy Potter) after I heard someone was going to die. I was going to pickup my pre-order, lock myself in my room with a fully stocked mini fridge, and go apeshit on the book. And then, as I leave the store....some fucking moron yells out "the" spoiler for the book.
All of the workers at Barnes and Noble had to escort the guy out -- not because he was a jerk -- but because a mob of people were threatening to murder him. I was pretty goddamn infuriated.
Not that hard. I avoided halo 3 stuff, HL2 spoilers, easily enough. Just don't read threads that have to do with the game. That's all. Scroll past the blog posts, skip through the podcast parts. It's not like you'll be reading the TF2 thread and then spoilers randomly appear.

This is still funny to me.
Also, you're probably fine just going on normal for a bit. Diablo 3 won't be out for a while, the blackout can wait, I dunno, probably a year or so. you'll want to pass over threads but if you can't resist the temptation then you can request to be banned. Also don't go to any gaming blogs or anything of the sort.
If you're simply looking to avoid plot spoilers, you should be safe until there's a beta (if there's a beta). Once the beta comes out, then duck and cover by avoiding forums.
It takes a bit of self-restraint; I'm just getting around to playing Bioshock, and it's damn hard avoiding reading about the game before I finish it.

Haha, Bioshock. I never had any interest in the game, still don't really, but while knowing nothing about the game I went over to a friend's house during the most crucial moment, the big reveal. Basically learned everything I need to know about the whole game in 5-10 minutes (with my friend explaining a little bit about what was going on).

He would have to avoid any Asian country.
