so, are there any plans on a post pax anything? I see like 100000000 pre pax things, so maybe a post pax thing should happen. if anyone is staying til like late in the day Monday and wanna do something Sunday after 6 maybe we could organize something?
If you are up for something post here (and maybe some ideas)
There is usually a post-PAX party like Robot Chicken, but I don't know who's on point for that. I usually don't go to post-PAX parties because I just don't have it in me.
We're actually staying until Monday evening to see Seattle. Monday is labor day, so some people actually get it off as a holiday (my husband is one). Makes a good excuse to have PAX last a little longer.
We would probably be up for something Sunday night. We haven't done anything else in the past since we've always left right away, so no idea what's out there. I've heard OF Robot Chicken, but nothing more than that. If nothing comes up, we might just relax and enjoy one of the many great dinner recommendations.

geekgrrl and I are planning on walking around Seattle and I was going to show her the Music/SciFi museum.
I went there last year but I could totally go again.
Does anyone want to join us?
Or maybe if a group of you guys makes a plan we could hang out with you.
I'd definitely be up for checking out the music/scifi museum. I heard the museum of flight is another great one to check out, but I hadn't decided. I'd love to join you (as will my husband, and perhaps another couple of friends). I also just want to wander Seattle a little bit, and explore at random.
I think you're making the plan, and we're hanging out with you
I can vouch for the value of the Museum of Flight and will take the opportunity to again endorse the Boeing factory tour in Everett via the Future of Flight Center.

Well here is what I got in terms of the Music/SciFi museum.
1. We would probably meet on a street corner (or hotel lobby) in the PAX hotel area. 11AM, maybe 11:45AM?
2. Walk North like 12 blocks. The walk is very pleasant and takes us by the Space Needle. You can get excellent pics of it from the ground.
3. Arrive in the area outside of the museum.
4. Choose a place to get some food. There are places to eat scattered around up there. We could split into groups and meet near one of those art statues they've got up there when we are done eating.
5. Get our tickets. There may be some group discount we can apply for before we get there though.
6. Walk our way through the museums in a methodical and kinda organized manner.
Although I live in Seattle, and have the holiday off on Monday, I'm not sure I'll have it in me to do anything after PAX on Sunday. I've pretty much given up on the idea of seeing the Stone Temple Pilots at Bumbershoot that night just because I think I'll be too exhausted to be into it (and they are one of my favorite bands).
However, if something really badass is going down, I might be talked into it.

I'm not sure if visiting museums is really your idea of badass, but it would be interesting and fun. Plus, you know we'll all be comparing PAX experiences most of the time, and not really paying much attention to the museum
The only thing I want to make sure of is to pick out a nice place to eat. I really want to avoid tourist traps. By nice I don't (always) mean expensive, just good food. Anyone have favorites around the area or on the walk there? Brunch or lunch would probably be best.
As for the rest of the day, we have a 6PM flight, so it would work out perfectly to do the museum along with a little bit of roaming the streets, then cab it back to the airport.
My husband and I don't fly back until Monday evening as well (I believe our flight is at 7) and were looking to see Seattle some before we left. I hear you can ask your hotel to hold onto your bags after you check out so you don't have to lug them around with you if you want to sightsee?
Also has anyone called/checked out that these places will actually be open on Labor Day? That's been a concern of mine when I've been thinking about planning that day.

Yes. My hotel held my bag for me and my hotel is not as large and well equiped as the PAX hotels.
If the Monday after PAX 2007 was labor day, then yes the Music/SciFi museum was open on labor day.
If you want to get in to the Sky Church area on Monday you will need a Bumbershoot ticket I guess.
I think the rest of the museums will be normal price.
The girlfriend and I are staying untill early tuesday morning, so we'd be up for something to do on Monday. Monday was supposed to be a chance to rest before our trek back to MI, but who needs rest?

alright so how does a like 1230 lunch sound foe Monday at a yet-to-be-determined location (downtown prehaps?)
And people are saying something Sunday night well if pax shuts down at 6pm then we got things we can do (dinner Is possible and we can be called the post pax food eaters?)
There is the robot chicken party Sunday night (right?) maybe that and then the lunch Monday and maybe people can get buddys for their planes hope
I'm definitely up for hanging out and seeing stuff on Monday. I still like the original plan of walking to the SciFi Museum, having lunch, and browsing the museum. Anyone else?
So I know of two pieces of awesome that PAX go-ers should know about. First of all Bumbershoot is going on all weekend and the Sunday and Monday line-ups look like a lot of fun (if you like concerts and the like). Also in Ravenna park there will be a LARP from 1pm-10pm if you are looking to show up and bring the foam beat-down with a bunch of Geeks it might be a fun place to mingle.

I'm glad that it did not cross the line. The PAX area is much "cleaner" than other areas in the PA forums...

Why not white? White is good. Contrasts nicely with the background and everything.
