    I think it's more to do with you growing up than the content of the site.

    Homestar Runner seems like it's the sort of thing that's consistently tried to aim at kids and doesn't really change it's style much at all over the years.

    While that doesn't mean older peole can't enjoy it, it's difficult to consistently enjoy something you first started watching 5 or more years ago.

    Pseudo-1980's? I think it's set in modern day (as modern day as a fictional setting can be), it's just that Strong Bad prefers old computers and technology.

    the made-up band Limozeen is obviously an 80s thing.

    There are other references that go back to that era, but my brain wants sleep, and nothing's coming to me right now.
