The Guiding Principles and New Rules document is now in effect.
After toiling away since 2004 on my old AMD 3200XP, 1Gb RAM, and 6800GT I finally built a new Shuttle XPC with Vista 64bit, Core2Duo, 4Gb RAM and a Radeon 4850.
So now I want to catch up on all the hot games.
I just finished Crysis and bought Gears of War as I want some gore.
Below are games I want to play next but not sure which order I should do this. Obviously I want to play the best first so what should I buy next?
Mass Effect
Bioshock
HL2: Episode2
Call of Duty 4
I'm open to other suggestions though I'm not looking at any RTS games till DOW2 and SC2 come out.
There are some really spectacular RTS games you should take a look at. Why are you thinking about avoiding them right now?

If you're interested in HL2ep2, go ahead and pick up The Orange Box. While Portal and TF2 are now sold in standalone packages, I don't think Ep2 is yet.
Unreal Tournament III is pretty cheap all of a sudden, around $20.
Ah, yes, ye ol' TychoList. I love it every time. There's a lot of great shit there.

too bad many on that list were old school back when old school was new school.
I want tor recommend World In Conflict, but the devs botched that up after release by making some of the roles absolutely useless and others absolutely overpowered. . .
I just started playing Armed Assault. . . Great game if you enjoy the brutalest of brutal modern squad combat tactics strategy games.

Oh yeah, thanks for reminding me. I was a BF2 fanatic and I'm afraid that it may be incompatible with Vista 64. Should I worry?

Easily the best purchase I've made in the past month or so. It is so worth the $20.
