chicago thread (read: oh god i'm moving to a big city alone)
I moved to a good place to live instead of Illinois
This is the truth, pretty much every part of Illinois other than the greater chicagoland area is terrible. The northeast part of the state should secede.
I think that 70% of their popularity at any given time is due mostly to SNL.

A magician gives you a ring that, when worn, will let you see the world as it truly is.
However, the ring will never leave your finger, and you will be unable to ever describe to another living person what you see.
I hear you can get a mean hot dog in Chicago, oh and you can watch the cubs, bears, and bulls.
White Sox?
Like I said, you can watch the cubbs, bears, and bulls.

Didn't they make it so you can't watch cubs games from that rooftop now?

That'd suck if you were a tourist but hopefully someone living there would have their wages somewhat in line with the cost of living.

I used to be into the Red Wings when I watched hockey, so before the strike
I was a big Blackhawks fan too, but living in Chicago, you kind of need to have your hometown team and a team you'd expect to have a chance to win something
Hyde Park is pretty cool though, just don't wander too far away from it. Around the University of Chicago campus is a nice and safe area, going too far south or west isn't.
Gas in Santa Cruz is around $4.80 right now, and my place in Hyde Park has 500 more square-feet for $400 less... I think that says more about it being shit to live in Santa Cruz than it does being cheap in Chicago, though.

My cousins grew up south of Hyde Park. They told me to score some mace or get bigger.

Hello, on this fine brisk lake-front morning my friendly latin gentlemen!
Might I inquire where one might pick up some outstanding tacos? or perhaps some meth?

The Cubs tend to have better fans for exactly this reason.
Though I hear they are doing well this year, so yay for them.
