and I wouldn't mention anyone who's in this besides those in the trailer. It would have been nice to have been surprised when certain people came on screen but I had it spoiled by magazine.

Yea, edited my previous post.
It actually took me a good 20-30 minutes to figure out Les Goldman was Tom Cruise, I knew his voice instantly but couldn't place it. Also was surprised to see Mathew McConahey (I know thats not how you spell it) in it too, he did a pretty awesome job as well.

thank drakeon!
and also Jon Voight and Jason Bateman at the end. Tobey Maguire. heh, these were nice surprises but I have to point out, movie was phenomenal even barring the cameos

Satan's Alley. probably the best euphemism I've ever heard. fucking brilliant.
1) Does Ben Stiller really play the same character he's been playing for the last five years again, and
2) Given that I'm completely fucking ass-tired of that character, is there enough funny left in the movie to justify paying precious cash dollars to see it?
Eat it You Nasty Pig. on
hold your head high soldier, it ain't over yet

1) no, not at all
2) yes, every character in the movie has their own little funniness. Downey Jr. fucking BRINGS IT, and is probably the highlight. but every character will make you laugh, including Stiller.
He doesn't play the clueless, living-in-a-daze pretty face again? Cause the preview definitely made it seem like that.
But okay, I have a buddy who I know will want to see this, so mabye I'll go with him.
can you give me a list of movies where he's played that character?
he plays a moderately intelligent action star in this movie, but I can think of plenty others as well where he doesn't play the character you just mentioned.
I guess I'm mostly talking about the Dukes/Zoolander/Dodgeball Stiller, although he kinda got to me in Fockers as well.
dukes? I'm guessing you mean Starsky and Hutch.
anyway, I would not say he was the same character in all those three movies even but between Zoolander and Dodgeball I sorta see where you're coming from. he's entirely different in the Meet The Parents movies, much more regular-guy-type.
So I read an interview the other day. While Jack Black was up in a helicopter or something, he had an earpiece so that he could hear the people on the ground and respond on cue. They stopped the scene and Downey went to go pee.
Downey was still playing Osiris while in the bathroom. Jack could hear him talking to himself like an angry black man.
Are... Are you telling me this movie is not terrible? And that it is not only Not Terrible, but actually pretty good? Because I really thought this movie was going to suck when I saw the previews for it.
not to shit on this thread but the official trailer didn't sell me on it being superbo, despite the cast looking killer-awesome, the premise that they setup seems kinda tired. are there any others floating around besides the "2:35" trailer that's 40x on YouTube?

Robert Downey Jr. steals the whole damn thing.
The movie contains, and I say this without reservation, the best dialogue lines about retardery in any movie, ever.
One of the best satires I've ever seen, and Downey Jr takes it to another level. I'm a lead farmer, motherfucker!
But you were Elki. I like you. Thank you
my favorite line as of right now
A+ I'd like to be watching it again right now.
I'm a dude PLAYING a dude DISGUISED as another dude.
This is an awesome movie and I was surprised to see Stiller directed and wrote it too. Is this his Directorial debut?
Nope
I spoilered mine for a reason!

Thanks for the edit, Darkeon.

"Dude that's Ben Stiller, why is his name wrong?"
"I'm pretty sure that's Jack Black"
Honestly, it made them that much funnier
I really don't know why I found it so funny. But I was almost dying by the end of that scene.
-The Grinman
