I'm not sure how many letterboxers are in the PAX crowd, but since I'm coming all the way from Michigan, I definitely wanted to check out Seattle while I'm there. If anyone is interested in joining me, please PM me! Anyone is welcome as long as they bring all the necessary supplies.
It looks essentially like "analog" geocaching because coordinates are not involved.
It is similar to geocaching, but the clues tend to be in story form, and send you on a sort of scavenger hunt around an area. There is more focus on appreciating an interesting area as you search. ElectricTurtle is right, there generally aren't coordinates, but the clues will sometimes require the use of a compass.
Also the prizes are stamps. Anyone interested in going, therefore, needs to carve a rubber stamp to use as their "signature" and bring a logbook (basically just a pad of blank paper) and an inkpad.
This site basically provides all the information you need.
I recommend reading "Start finding letterboxes" and "How to carve a stamp" if you want to come along and have never letterboxed before. Again, anyone who really wants to go, PM me so I can get an idea of how many people are interested.
I'm in!! I love geocaching, but I don't yet have GPS (lol I know... but for now I've just been using google maps to find ones in the middle of cities). Anyways, I'd love to join up.
Over here! I'm a really casual letterboxer and tried to come up with some decent ones on LBNA and Atlas last year, but didn't have the time away the con to go find them. (Heck, I still don't know what the space needle looks like...) I would love the chance to grab one or two and think it might be fun to trade travellers or even plant one for PAX. Let me know what you've got planned.

Just a quick hunt for a few letterboxes near the con. I don't want to take too much time away from PAX, but I've never been to Seattle before, so I can't pass up the chance to leave my mark (and maybe a hitchhiker or two). I thought if I could meet some fellow letterboxers in the process, all the better!

I just found letterboxing.org and already found a clue to a hidden box less than a mile from my apartment!!
Damn, learn something new everyday.
This looks fun!
