Buying Camera and Lenses

So school's coming up and I want to pick up a new DSLR.

I've pretty much decided on a used Canon 20D with a canon ef-s 17-85mm F4-5.6 and Canon EF 50mm/1.8.

I don't think think I need a longer lens since when I've had access to one I've barely used it.

Any thoughts?
