Quick Questions before buying a Bluray Drive.

artooartoo Registered User regular
Planning on buying this Blu Ray Drive. But I have some quick questions.

1. I assume this drive can read all the Blurays I put in it? I've seen some reviews for other drives that say it had trouble with certain Bluray Discs. (Dual Layers.)

Here's the list of supported BR media: BD-R, BD-RE, BD-ROM No idea what those mean.

2. I assume this is a Region A drive? I was planning on buying this movie. Hopefully it will run. :^:

Thanks guys, you always have good answers.

The drive shouldn't be the limiting factor watching movies. Do you have a modern enough computer to play 1080p AAC?

    Yes I do.

    Specs:
    Intel Core 2 Duo @ 3.0
    9800 GTX OC'D
    2GB DDR3
    XFX nForce 790i

Also, I'm going to be running this to my 720p Panasonic Viera through an HDMI cable.

The package says it comes with playback software. So you should be good to go, just check the drives' firmware for an update when you get it. If you have problems with regions look into AnyDVD HD.
