What the fuck? "Antivirus XP 2008" is telling me I have 3,000 viruses, and so far in my scan, McAfee hasn't picked up one. My computer still appears to be working fine and I have no idea where these came from. Basically I'm just confused as shit right now and have no idea how to get rid of all these.

Short answer Antivirus XP 2008 is malware. It's lying to you, get rid of it.

    Yea seriously.

I'd say download Malwarebyte's Anti-malware program and do a full scan.

    Then click on remove all.

Oh man Anvtivirus XP 200x is such a bad program. Seriously it tricks EVERYONE into thinking they have viruses then has them click on a link to "remove them", which of course adds more viruses/spyware on your computer.

Make sure to run a lot of anti-spyware programs after you've cleaned it up. Either that or just format and start over. It's good to do that at least once a year. :)

It's funny getting an Antivirus XP popup with tons of results on Ubuntu.

Wow, that thread title made me chuckle. If I had 3,000+ viruses I would expect big red letters to pop up saying "YOU FOOL!" and then the computer just blows up.

Anywho, that antivirus xp junk is spyware/malware it makes it through my pop-blockers sometimes. never click on the window or it may lead to the endless pop-ups. Even worse, it may do that giant pop-up that won't let you click X to close it. Then you just have to hit the alt+f4.

    Fix'd.

Never trust a popup window that you don't recognize. Ever. If you run McAfee anti-virus, that is the only virus report you trust. Nothing else. The internet is very predatory. :)
