So many routers

So I'm trying to hook up a VPN for my friend-become-clients network. I know nothing about this (and he knows this as well, I'm not trying to screw him here) so I've run into more than a few problems.... here's the most recent one.

He bought a VPN router ... a Linksys RV042 to be precise. It's not wireless, but he needs a wireless network in his house. The thing has 4 ports and two internet ports (one is a regular internet port and the other one can be configured to a DMZ internet setup). Hes got a Linksys WRT350N (wireless) router as well. Is there anyway to set this up so everything works with the internet?

I'm talking Modem ===> VPN ===> Wireless

The light is on with the wireless for the internet but it doesn't seem like it's actually working. ARGH!

    I think you need to plug the vpn router into the internet connection, and then hook the wireless router to a ethernet port on the vpn router (from an ethernet port on the wireless, ignore the internet side completely), make sure the dhcp server in the wireless router is switched off (you may need to add the IP of the vpn router to dhcp relay, presuming the vpn router is the one giving out IP's) and configure the wireless as normal.

    That should work, the wireless router should just act as a passthrough to the vpn router, allowing you to use the wireless and ethernet ports on the wless as if they where part of the vpn.

    Note I have done this with 2 Linksys routers before, but not these specific models.

    Good luck!

    If he's returning it, like you said in my FioS thread, you need to check the link I sent you. That D-Link router is really easy to set up and works great.
