I felt the need to try out first class on Virgin America on my way back home for an extra $400. I can't wait to
see if it is worth it. (Signs point to no...)

Plane ticket (round trip) - $180
Hotel share (thu-sun) - $125
Airport parking share - $10
Booze/snack share - $45

___
$405, though since my wife and I share our bank account, $810 for the both of us so far.
We also bought two DS' and two games, so there's another $350.
I'll have to pay for parking at the con, so that'll be about 15 or 20 a day.
Food, t-shirts and whatever goodies I find to buy always tend to pile on. It's too early to tell just yet. 8-)
3-day passes in case blue badges fall through: $90
BYOC passes: $50
Cost of our own dinners: $60
Cost of dinners we're subsidizing for Chris Taylor: $30
Cost of supplies not included in cost passed on to attendees: $150 and climbing
Cost of case of mead for booze exchange: $130
So that's $510 and counting. Not including the (insane) cost of the wig my wife is getting since I'm sure she'll get more use out of that than just PAX. I don't know what the gas and food totals are going to end up, or what swag I may or may not get, etc.
Train Tickets: $48 (for three from Olympia to Seattle, one way. We're carpooling back, yay!)
Costume Material for RSPD Contest: Roughly $100, I lost count.
Extra Funds for Misc: $100.00
Total so far: $383.00
Things I'm glad for? The fact that I live 2 hours from Seattle, and that my boyfriend's mom lives there and is willing to give us all room and board....and possibly feed us.
Sadly, not a lot of spending money this year But at least most the cool stuff is free!
Plane Tickets $520 (And that was a deal)
Parking $10
Hotel $180
Bus ticket $5
9 Meals $100 (or so)
Schwag $whatever is left over
3-day PAX Pass: $ 40
BYOC Pass: $ 25
Pre-Pax Dinner: $ 30
8800 GT $150
UT 3 $ 25
Giving up all responsibility to play video games for three straight days: priceless
Fin. :P
What good does the DS Edge card do you at PAX? And what is the student advantage card? I'm assuming you've just backed up all the games you own on to one convenient little card? You own them all, right?
*GLARE*
Same.
Settle down Action Jackson, I got it for the homebrew! I'm very excited about writing my own homebrew apps =D. It looks like all you need is some C++ knowledge, some libraries, and a special compiler. I could really get into something like that, and my mind is reeling with the possibilities. Of course, iphone homebrew community is probably more poppin right now, but fat chance I'm going to be joining them any time soon...
As for illegal activities, on my internet?! Unheard of!!
Student advantage: is something I signed up for when I bought my amtrak tickets because it conferred an instant 15% discount. The 15% discount for the tickets already outweighed the $20 I spent on the card. Apparently, it's good for discounts at a bunch of other places I don't shop at =P.
Some days it's good to take the bus...and...you know...live in the same city as the friggin' con...
I spent $45 on my pass and it costs .75 cents to be on the bus.
So...running total...let me double check...
$45.75.
HA!
$160? I hope that's counting a sizable SD card.
500 dollars for a round trip plane ticket.
400 for a 4 night stay at the Renaissance.
45 for the 3 day pass
20 for the shuttle to the plane in Boston.
?? for Taxi/Bus while in Seattle
??? for food while in Seattle
??? for goodies while in Seattle.
$160x4 - Thursday - Monday at the Hyatt
$50 - Bus
$100 - Couple games
= $830 + whatever I spend there.
But yea, no money is coming out of my pocket for this trip
About $878 for my flight
About $1100 for the hotel
$400 meal/taxi/shuttle allowance
grand total: almost $2400 for me alone, nevermind 2 co-workers that are coming
Im in agreement, how can some people get 4 nights for 227 dollars. Im paying almost 220 a night at the pax rate after taxes.
I'm guessing they are sharing the room with 3 others? That is all I can think of.
you gotta pay for that house you live in.
Renting a sutie at Homewood Suites for 189 a night, sharing with 5 people. Three on the bed, one on the couch, one on the floor.
Wow, that's dedication!
$175.00 - Plane Ticket (Virgin America
$187.50 - Hotel (Moore, Thurs night through Sun)
$40.00 - PAX Badge (3 Day Pre-Reg)
$35.00 - Shuttle Express (Round trip, with tip)

I'm being a tad liberal with my estimates for food, drinking and shopping. Last year I bought so much crap from Pike Place market--I probably won't be doing the same this year.

One friend bought a DS - $130?
One friend flew in from Georgia, no idea how much that cost, not including it in total below.
