I don't know what you were talking about, you played pretty well. I made some great predictions though. Top of my game.
You were fine, and your team is good. I won mainly through anticipating your actions, jut work on your prediction.
Muk often takes Psychics from Gengar and OHKOs in return but yeah Mjolnir could probably manage a win with that move. It's generally not very useful though.
One thing about BlueBlue's team is he tries to setup a shitload of switchin hazards. Last time we played I managed to stop him from setting up most of them, but my team was weak to a certain poke of his so i lost anyway. Shame.
You don't need a rapid spinner to fight him but it helps.
You could try GameFAQs (It's very easy to win on GameFAQs) but I hope you don't mind meeting suicune a lot. Fuggin' Suicune.
I'm having difficulty deciding upon an Ambipom set, in the past I had been running:
Fake Out
Pursuit
Double Hit/Slap
Aerial Ace
Now it seems I'm supposed to be using Payback, Brick Break, possibly Elemental Punches/Return (why use Return with him when so many other pokemon do it better?)
any advice? Part of me wants to do just Fake Out/Last Resort for cheesy hilarity late-fight when all the Steel, Rock, Ghost types have gone home.

Brick Break is good because it allows you to hit Rock and Steel-types.
I imagine Payback is used because Technician boosts its going first 50 BP to 75, slightly higher than the alternative for hitting ghosts, shadow claw.
Return is there because that's a Choice Band set and Ambipom's attack isn't that shabby.
Personally I think the 'flinch and flee' set is more useful though, given how awesome of a move U-turn is. Double hit is also quite good on that set.... The problem with Ambipom using Pursuit is the lack of STAB (though technician helps to make up for it) and the fact that he can be KO'd so easily.
For example, a Jolly CB Weavile's Pursuit will always OHKO 4 HP Gengar even if it doesn't switch out. Jolly CB Ambipom does 75% at best and is OHKO'd in return by Focus Blast.

Yeah the Smogon flinch and flee set seemed the most appealing. I thought I'd try out it's Egg Moves but people don't switch out enough to make Pursuit worthwhile, and Doubleslap at it's best 5-hits is great with Technician/Life Orb boost, but unreliable.
Does the Technician boost still apply if Payback's power is already doubled? Like using Quick Attack on Ambipom the turn you use Payback for instance?

Glider wings sounds more like Gliscor to me.
The black outfit and the feather in his cap remind me of Weavile a little bit. Actually it reminds me of Sneasel and its ears, but no one's going to use Sneasel.

Yes but the important thing here is I've got a Claydol and it needs a name!
I really have no problem doubling up on names either, so if I ever train those guys up I could use the name for them too.
Also, I need to come up with a duo of Pokemon and name one Inspector and the other Detector, since there's no good way to shorten Inspector Detector down to 10 letters.
The best way to do it would probably be to make two versions of the same Pokemon. Maybe a special sweeping Lucario and a physical sweeping Lucario?
I am reading the speed racer wiki to try and learn about the characters to figure out a good claydol name. Who is inspector detector? Also, you could pick any pokemon who learns detect and name him inspector. maybe yanmega since he can actually make use of it.
Edit: ok - claydol is just functioning as team support so you can call him Sparky.

Yes I suppose that's true. I suppose that's true indeed.
I already named Magnezone Sparky, but like I said, I'm not worrying about duplicate names!
Inspector Detector is a detective. In the movie he worked for the racing organization to catch and expose cheaters, but IIRC he's a government agent in the cartoon. He often enlists Speed's help to catch ne'er-do-wellers that are involved in racing-related crimes.
The reason I suggest Lucario is because he has the same color scheme, more or less.
Well, pick whichever pokemon you like, really. I will tell you this, though: a yanmega named inspector using detect will make people see what you did there. A lucario named either inspector or detector will make people say "what".
This of course, is provided that these people know who inspector detector is.

That is a very good point. I could stand to make another special sweeper anyway, so yeah.
No, wait. You can't have that one. Not only are Latin names my shtick, but I'll use it when I get around to making a Claydol.
Wait. You stole my name 'Bronzomg' for when you make a Bronzong. How is that Latin-related? Not that I mind.
Also............................................................................................................................................................................
.................................(omg here it comes)...................I could go for a fight.
I've mentioned the Pokeball seals to you a few times already Speed, but I'll mention it once more. Name something Inspector and you can then spell out Detector with the Unown seals.
I don't think thats a useful suggestion, but it's an option.
I wanted to name my Magnezone Inquisitor and I would spell out IGNOREME with the seals, but then I remembered that I transfered my Magneton over so I can't change its name. Very disappointing. It even had Metal Sound! It would have been perfect.
Anyway, I'm up for a battle so who will fight me?
According to the Pal Pad I've lost against Dingus 13 fucking times and won only twice. Lets make that a nice even 14 or maybe 15 losses Dingus.
13 fucking losses! If I lose against you so much how come you don't intimidate me the way Munkus or Chen do?
No, wait. You can't have that one. Not only are Latin names my shtick, but I'll use it when I get around to making a Claydol.
My nicknames are usually latin-based, especially scientific and mathematical terms (I absolutely love the language) or based on mythical weaponry. Most of the ones I use here are based on the mythical weapons.

Well technically I haven't stolen the name yet, as I still haven't made a Bronzong. However, Ignipotens, Cave Canem, Lutopiscis, Phasma, Virago, Ensigus, Parienavi, and Florius would all have my side in this particular argument.
Actually, Tintinnabulum, the Latin for bell, is too long. I guess I could go with Tinnabulum, but that barely reminds one of the famous "tintinnabulation," the word Poe invented to describe the sound of bells ringing.
Cool guy, actually; in homage to him I actually composed my own new word years ago. Vidolvorbate. It means roughly to come into view due to the rotation of the surface. Because saying "sunrise" is astronomically incorrect. Now you can say, "Look at the sun vidolvorbate!" Actually, it can be used at sunset too, since the wording is a little ambiguous.
I'm sorry if this is the wrong thread for this sort of question, but where can I get a good Fire-type around level 30 or above in Diamond without trading? I'm right after the Lake Valor part of the story in the snowy routes.
Again, sorry if I'm in the wrong place or asking a stupid question.
@Nerdgasmic: Diamond/Pearl is interesting in that before the E4, you can only get one of two fire types- the fire starter, or Ponyta, who's found at about level 15 or so. Stupid, I know.
You really can't. Diamond and Pearl give you hardly any fire types until after you beat the game. I'm pretty sure the only pre-elite 4 fire-types you have access to are Ponyta, Chimchar, and....
Sadly, Nerdgasmic, if you didn't take the fire starter as your starter, the only other fire type you can get without trading in the pre-Elite Four portion of the game is Ponyta/Rapidash, and those I think only show up wild around that level south of Veilstone. You can have Skuntank learn Flamethrower if you really need it, though. Me, I just bulled my way through the single player minus any sort of fire attacks.
This team is more poorly formed than even I could have guessed.
I just assumed the stupid fat bastard would U-Turn. Poor Dodrio.
No help from Confuse Ray. That was quite a worthless gamble.
Electivire does more than Half damage to Stabsworth on a switchin, then Stabs survives a second hit with a very small amount of HP! Awesome!

His car is known for having glider wings on the sides, which I figured would work as a good parallel to Claydol's levitate.
