Looking for something similar to Pete Murray

Most of my life I have been listening to hip hop and rap. Recently I have discovered artists such as Pete Murray and Snow Patrol (only have their "Eyes Open" album).

So I am essentially looking for more artists that produce similar music.

Sorry if I am not really specific but I suck when it comes to describing my musical tastes.

    You'd probably dig Coldplay, The Shins, Aqualung, Death Cab For Cutie, newer REM, Damien Rice, Stereophonics...

    Seconded on the Coldplay, particularly their first (I think) album, Parachutes.

    Laid back, melodic and catchy. Dude has an awesome voice but it sort of takes a backseat in the new album. Maybe the later stuff too if you're a fan of Parachutes.

    EDIT: maybe Travis. Their album The Man Who would probably be a good one to start on.

    Half a valium and a glass of warm milk.

    Try Josh Pyke, Xavier Rudd, Bernard Fanning, Lior. They're all pretty interchangeable.
