Can't find a folder

I know I didn't delete it, but I can't find a folder containing backup saves for a game I'm playing. I decided I'd start over and just put the new backups in the new folder, but upon trying to create one it says it's already around and so I can't make a duplicate. I've tried rearranging the files on my desktop by name, type, time last modified, and each time I pick through them based on the order, but so far I can't seem to find it.

Any help?

    The folder is supposed to be on the desktop? If this is XP you can just open my computer and type the this in the address bar:

    C:\Documents and Settings\WHATEVER YOUR PROFILE IS CALLED\Desktop\THE FOLDER'S NAME
