Can you guess that "modern" game - as a Gameboy game?

Hey everyone, so, wayofthepixel.net's forums had a contest -

To make the best old-brick, greenscreen Gameboy mockup of a modern game (or such a game that you wouldn't expect to see on GB hardware).

Most of the results are fantastic!

I had to make this thread because some of these are awesome.

Can you guess which games these are?

If you can't ID a game, you can probably figure it out from the image filename.

Anyway, I thought this was great and wanted to share.

I'd be totally willing to do some mockups of my own just for fun.

These are really great. The Yoshi's Island one makes me wish it existed.

The last one reminds me of this and what could have been.

I was just playing this one.

It's a remake of the Goldeneye Dam level, but as a side scroller.

So far it's pretty cool, but a little difficult.

I wish these were real. :(

I don't remember Gameboy games looking that good.

The original Gameboy had some serious punch under the hood.

Quite a few these could very well be possible, which rules all over the place.

The Donkey Kong Land series looked pretty good. I'd say all of them are possible. None look 3D or anything silly.

Sands of Time Prince of Persia? No.

Wow, RE on the Gameboy Color. It looks like crap, but it's a very impressive technical achievement. Can't imagine a GBC cart could store data for an entire game like that, though.

Well if you remember, a GB is on about the same power level as a NES, probably a bit more. The NES had several games that were nothing but pictures, including stuff like this:

    e89e250bb8f8303d2a038e7cl2.jpg

    maniacmansionnesscreensvw0.gif

    kingsquestvnesscreenshowz8.jpg

But all of those had pretty much straight on viewpoints with lots of repeated data, so the biggest problem with RE on the GB is the "camera angles."

I could see a game in the Maniac Mansion style working as RE, that game was scaaary sometimes.

By "modern," I meant - exceeding that which you would expect to run on Gameboy Brick hardware. I guess it's technically a misnomer.

But that doesn't affect just how cool some of these are.
