So I picked up the SpyCraft 2.0 core book a couple three weeks ago, and it looks
excellent.
As you may have guessed, SpyCraft is all about being a spy. Either Freelance, or working for an agency. Defending freedom and/or your agency's goals. Not to mention generally stopping world destruction.
As for system, well, you might as well say that it's its own system. They used d20 as a base, but that's where it stops. They even say "If there's a d20 rule that isn't in this book, it doesn't apply."
Ok, so everyone is human. To make up for the lack of races, they use "Origins." These give you any modifiers to your attributes, and also any skill additions.
I feel like I'm rambling.

Anyway, I'm not sure if I want this to be a GAME ON! thread, or just a discussion about the system in general.
Lets see what happens, shall we?
EDIT: GAME ON!
GC: Duo
Players: 1/4 slots filled.

I suspect that, if it does what I think it does, every Rifts character I've ever played or played with has had this feat.
Some of their rules are needlessly complicated and it suffers from some feature creep and chart-whorage, but its still a really good buy. I think you'd be hard pressed to get a book as filled with content as 2.0.
The alternative means of plot progression (missions instead of overall campaigns) has worked really well for me, and its something I've been implementing (discretely) into all my games.
I do so love Spycraft (at least the version I've played). I have a Faceman who has poisoned business cards and enough various poisons on him to take down several buffalo. I poisons. His exploits one session was one of those that your group brings up and laughs about years later.
If I can read up on the GC stuff I wouldn't mind trying to run a game with RPTools. Unless someone else wants to GC.
Also, I would LOVE to use teamspeak or vent along with it.
It would be 2.0, though, as I have nothing else.
Also: Play by post? Ow. I've never seen that turn out well.
Yes, the 2.0 book can be unwieldy, and there are many complicated rules, but for my campaign I simply toss out the rules I find too complicated. I can't think of any examples right now, but I don't like to be bogged down with rules arguments so itry to avoid anything which might confuse my players(easily done:) )
Crafty Games next book World on Fire should be out soon, with a new setting to use, Master Classes and more Mastery Feats.
If someone wants to run a chat or pbp game I'd be willing to play. I've never actually played a Spycraft game, only GM/GC'd them...
Better not talk loud about that, or you'll get raided by the Secret Service.
I'll be reading up on what I need to know in the next week or so.
I must admit, having never run SpyCraft (let alone played in a game), I feel a little intimidated by your experiance Napoleon.
Game on! You'll do fine man. However if you have any questions feel free to run them by me(feel free to email me if you want) and I'll do my best to answer them. Just one tip make sure you read the rules. I know you said you are but for instance if you plan on the game being combat heavy make sure you're good with the combat rules. The GC section is pretty helpfull as well. Check out the NPC creation charts in the back of the book-they are heaven sent fo sho. Makes life much easier. For my games at least, where the average NPC life-span is the time it takes to say "Die mofo". I can't wait to make a character.... oooohhhh mama I got ideas.
I think I'll dig up the game summaries one of my players has been writting and post some of the funnier ones in the stories thread...
I'll probably be ready by this time next week. I'll edit the OP some, too, and we'll gather players for this awesome excursion.
