What was your favorite game as a kid?

Traveling the Oregon Trail is a terrible idea.
I think mainly because I never once knew an SNES owner that had a multi-tap.
...
The SNES had 2 controller ports.
And possibly the greatest racing game ever:
And sugar water helps with dysentery. I grew up with a Ms. Pac-man cocktail table in my house that my father taught me to tinker around with, and I remember my mom playing the Kings Quest series with me to teach me how to type.
That said, my first console was a nintendo, and my favorite game for it is still Startropics. The original was gold, and the sequel was a decent game. Its a real shame they haven't done more with it. My manual is long gone, but I can tell you that the code from the good doctors letter is 747.
Lies. Filthy dirty lies.

Yeah, because we all know YELLOW was the best.
Blue for life motherfuckers.
Seriously, Pokemon colors is a bit like gang warfare. You can get killed out there for wearing the wrong colors.

Talking about the 3-player co-op in particular.
And how, exactly, does this make any more sense? Co-op doesn't require 3 people to be co-op.
Actually, also for NBA Jam.

I thought when I mentioned the multi-tap, people would put two and two together and figure out that I meant the 3-player co-op.
Clearly I give people too much credit.
It was for the SNES, and a racing game. It had extremely bright, vibrant colors and iirc the cars had eyes.
Other than that I got nothin
Exactly. Which box and cart had Blastoise on it?
I used to play through Ikari Warriors 3 all the fucking time, and Guerilla War too. Love that oldschool SNK.
And then when I finally got a SNES, it was I think a year after it came out, so instead of coming with Super Mario World, it came packaged with motherfucking Super Metroid. Took me so long to figure that game out in my younger years. Will always be one of my favorites.

OH MY GOD
YOU ARE SO RIGHT
Man, I used to fucking love Bubsy when I was a kid. I played it again a few months ago, and holy shit, what an annoying game.
And I know this is reaching a bit, but there's this game I used to play that I can't remember the name of. I'm pretty sure it let you select from three people, and it was a medieval hack n' slash sorta game. There was a tall (maybe muscular) dude, I think a chick, and a dwarf or short guy. Maybe it was a short girl, I can't remember.
It may have been Gauntlet, but I recall it had side-scrolling semi-platforming elements (think Castlevania, that kinda thing) early in the game, if not throughout the entire game.
Anyone have any idea what it might have been? It was on the NES. MAYBE Genesis, but I'm like 90% sure it was NES.
Definitely Pokemon. (red)
and Donkey Kong Country
and Jet Moto.
and Twisted Metal 2
and Populous
and Road Rash 8-)
I swear, if I could find a remake or port of Quartet I'd buy five copies. This game also got my mother into games so she'd spend time trying to beat Sonic 2 back in the day.
Also the entire Sega Smash Pack dominated my life from 11-13. I still haven't best Phantasy Star II and the last level of The Super Shinobi still stumps me (watch me be retarded and miss something simple).
Talk to me about Mega Drive games.

Is that the game where you collected robot parts and they came through on a conveyor belt and you could "ANALYZE" them? Came out around the same time as Rescue on Fractalus!?
Koronis Rift, I believe it was called?
That may not be it, but Koronis Rift is a game I've been trying to remember the name of for years and finally just did.
Your childhood in 20 minutes.
This game in particular became a frothing obsession:
Ultimate Wizard
One screen, 40 x 25 character cells, 8 sprites, INFINITE GENIUS.
The mega drive was when i was finally old enough to buy my own games and oh man:

that game had the best music ever.
Golden Axe is awesome. I played through the Genesis version co-op with a little brother this last Winter and it still absolutely kicks ass.
I religiously stuck to the dwarf. Like, if someone else picked it before me at a party or something, I just would not play.
Castle of the Winds
Rayman
NES:
Megaman 2, 3, and 4
Ninja Gaiden I-III
Kirby's Adventure
Gameboy:
SolarStriker
Kirby's Pinball Land
Mega Man: Dr. Wily's Revenge
I have immortalized these.
I don't think it is possible to pick any one game, I loved them all.
I remember it was a horizontal sidescroller.
I remember being outdoors.
I remember brick buildings with windows.
I remember you have a jetpack.
I remember you have a blaster with limited shots, or you could find a blaster - can't remember which.
I remember you could shoot out the windows and find items.
I think it was in the 1986-1991 era because the graphics are better than most 1985 and prior games I looked at.
I also think the game name started with an "M" or maybe the developer/publisher did. Like Mind-something. Or maybe it was from Mastertronic. But I cannot locate the game. Haven't been able to for years.
lee
shit.
Thank you SO MUCH Lemon64.

That's the game I've been unsuccessfully trying to figure out the name to for at least five years now. Literally. I think I've posted as many threads in the last four years in PA and nobody has been able to help me find it.
Holy shit. This is like a terrible weight lifted.
I might actually cry.
I knew there was an "M" in there. Turns out it was in both the title and the publisher.
Jesus Christ thank you God...now I know I'm not crazy anymore.
