I have owned a Wii since day one and have only bought 1 game. Help
That game being Zelda of course..and a ton of VC games. Besides that I have bought no games made for the Wii. Have they advanced at all with online gaming? Any must have games out? Any bargain bin games that I should pick up.
The only game that I have heard anything about other than Zelda that seems even remotely interesting for the Wii is The Conduit. It's not out yet, but check it out and see what you think.
NMH, Brawl, MKW, SUPER MARIO GALAXY, Resident Evil 4:Wii Edition, Zack and Wiki, Fire Emblem:RD, Super Paper Mario, Godfather, House of the Dead 2+3, RE:UC, Boom Blox, etc, etc.
How do you not own Super Mario Galaxy yet? It's easily the best game on the Wii, and may be the best game of this generation so far.
Really? Do you only own a Wii? What about:
Oblivion
Resistance
Too Human
All the LEGO Titles
You can't tell me that Super Mario Galaxy was BETTER than any of those games.
Of course I can. Oblivion is great, but not for everyone. Resistance is nothing special, Too Human is bland and boring. The LEGO titles? Seriously?
EDIT: And I own a Wii and PS3. Had a 360, played everything I wanted to play on it and saw nothing great coming out in the future that wasn't headed for PS3 as well, so sold it to trim the fat. Went with PS3 over 360 because of Blu-ray.
If you bought your Wii for online play, I think you made a mistake in console choices.
I see the Wii much akin to the GameCube--not many 3rd party titles, rarely see 1st-party titles, and even when you get 3rd party stuff it's usually pretty mediocre, or try to use the Wii-mote in some way that makes the game not fun anymore.
Unbreakable I know everything is relative and all but Galaxy isn't even in the top 5 games this year, let alone the best of the generation so far.
Maybe it's because it didn't come out this year.
That could contribute to it.
Yeah, thats my point. It isn't better than any good 5 games this year. You said it may be the best of the generation and I said it isn't better than just 5 great titles this year let alone last or any future years we may experience short of Mayan armageddon.
It's like me saying that I would take Brawl over every single PS3 or 360 release this year. It's true, but not really helpful to a discussion of good Wii games.
My main problem with Mario Galaxy was expectations. I was expecting a Mario 64 sequel. Instead it felt like I got a Super Mario 3 sequel. Not that that's necessarily a bad thing, it's just not what I was hoping for.

This was precisely why I loved it so much.
Super Mario Bros. 3 felt fresh and vibrant. Super Mario 64, while impressive in its day (if only because it was, well, 3D), is comparatively bland when compared to SMB3 and World.

Of which there are many.
I'd give Dead Rising or Fable 2 (Assuming its as awesome as it looks) game of teh generation before SMG.

Fable 1 really showed how much hype means for that game series

This is the real problem with all of the Wii exclusives: Zelda, Mario Galaxy, Brawl, Mario Kart Wii... When will they come out with anything that isn't just a rehash of an old game with new controls? Don't say Wii fit either, because that's not a game, it's a marketing ploy.
The Conduit may be the closest thing the Wii will get to a game that competes in this console generation, but the reality is that the Wii markets to a different demographic than the PS3 or 360 anyway. That makes it hard to compare.

That's what I thought, also. I didn't play Mario64 until after OoT came out, so although I enjoyed it, it didn't blow me away like the older Marios did. SMG being like SMB 3 and SMW is entirely a good thing in my books.

The fact that you're assuming something will be so great from a preview build that it is the best game of this generation kills any arguments you might have had.

No, it just shows that a game that isn't even out yet looks better and is more deserving of a title such as game of the generation than SMG.

The large yellow one below is terrible. If you hate fun.

I suspect that it is because the "new" hasn't worn off on the 360 I picked up not too long ago but hey
Anyway: the following are all good games and are worth at least a rental
Super Mario Galaxy - basically it's to Mario 64 what Mario 3 is to Mario 1
Elebits - you use a gravity gun to make a huge mess and find these little guys
Marvel Ultimate Alliance - if you don't mind not getting the extra 360 characters or not being able to play online then this is pretty good, if only for the fact that you have access to all your special moves at once
Mario Kart Wii - still ridiculously unfair when playing against the CPU but its online mode is really good
Super Smash Bros Brawl - online usually sucks but lots of fun playing with people in your living room
No More Heroes - you play as an otaku who becomes an assassin after buying a lightsaber on eBay. Also it's made by the guys behind Killer7
Final Fantasy Fables: Chocobo's Dungeon - if you like roguelikes (Nethack, ADoM, Pokémon Mystery Dungeon) then you'll like this Final Fantasy-themed one
Wii: 5024 6786 2934 2806 | Steam/XBL: Arcibi | FFXI: Arcibi / Bahamut
I fail at life?
Ugh...head...blood dripping from ears...
Head...imploding.

Galaxy is good though, but I didnt like it. Nor Twilight Princess.

Step 2: Buy a Wii game.
There, I hope that helps.
I'm no doubt in the minority on that opinion.

While I tend not to agree with all the people that are all "OMG XBLA IS THE BEST THING ON 360", N+ makes a strong case for it.

At any rate, just check the other thread and lock this one.

Have you followed it? It looks like it is going to be actually amazing this time.

Opinionslol aside. That's just shitty right there.

Do you really thing SMG is better than all of those games?

I care how a game plays when I think of great games. You know, games I've PLAYED, and not just looked at. :P
We're fantastically off topic though.
