I need to liquidate a lot of magic cards, i have a very extensive collection. But, due to requiring immediate funds for college I have to forfeit all of them. What's the best way to sell them; time not being a factor. Ebay as singles? Craigslist?
It's a warm feeling when you realize that people share your views...
The way that will probably best combine effort and payoff would be to pull out any of the more valuable cards you have and sell them either singly or in small lots (preferably of similar cards) either on eBay, or a local cardshop if you have one that buys/sells individuals, or some of the online cardshops I believe will buy individual cards (though eBay will likely yield a higher payoff at the cost of being more of a hassle.
Then take the remaining bulk of less valuable cards and try to get rid of them as a single lot, though last time I considered selling off my collection even very large lots of common/uncommon cards didn't have a high price.
The site buys cards, so you might be able to find something.

I sold off my bulk Magic cards in lots of about 500 on ebay. I didn't have very many to sell (only about 2000 in total) so I went about it in a sort of unorthodox way that might have helped to personalize it. I pulled out all the valuable/rare cards and evenly distributed them among the different lots. Then I took a picture of each lot (arranged to look good, with stacks and scattered cards) with some of the rares clearly visible. I attached each picture to that particular lot auction, and made sure in the description I said that the lot included 500+ cards and the exact cards in the picture. That way, if someone saw something they wanted they could buy that particular lot, and it didn't feel like I was just putting a bunch of pretty rares in a picture that you'd never get.
Probably not the best way to go about it, wouldn't work with a ton of cards, but it worked for me when I was trying to unload my cards. All four lots sold - between $12 and $25 each. Oh that's another thing - this might work for rares that aren't worth selling by themselves ($4-5 each), but if you've got some that are actually valuable (really old ones, Moxes, Black Lotus etc.) then sell those separately, maybe get them appraised.
