I would... if I could figure out where to put it. There's about... 4x7 feet between the couch and the TV that's the only space I don't have to walk through. I'd lose the couch but... I like multiplayer.
There was a fricken mountain of them in the annex building, it was really fun diving into them lol. If I had the money (or the room) I would definitely buy one, they're really comfortable and surprisingly light weight.
been meaning to buy one of these since the first year they were at PAX, was that second or third year BigRed? just haven't had the money or space for it
Me and just about everyone of my friends who came.
Pro-tip: Last year people who raved about them mentioned the ones at PAX being double stuffed. So its worth it to get the replacement stuffing and put more in there for extra comfort.
Those of you from Seattle, they have a Lovesac store in the basement of Westlake, conveniently placed next to GameStop. They also have sign that says "this is not a hang out" or something to that effect. One of my RAs in college had one of these and it was amazing and about as big as a couch. The red (faux?) suede definitely rubbed red dye into his furniture though.
If I had the money to spare I'd add one to my list, but my blue cotton bean bag with a giant shark on it from Fred Meyer will have to do. I think new lappy takes precedence right now.
Those little nylon bags filled with foam are $150? That's ridiculous.
Now I'll have to make one and see what it costs.
I think it's worth noting that the fabric on my year-old sumo Omni is extremely tear-resistant, liquid simply pools on it and doesn't soak into the fabric, and it has yet to fade in colour at all. If you can make something of similar quality with equivalent resistances, more power to you. I think it's safe to say most of us will go the lazy route and just buy one that's already been assembled and filled.
I got a Plush thingy. http://www.plushcomfort.com/inc/sdetail/44 Party size. Same thing pretty much as Lovesac or Sumo. Pretty darn nice, as me, the wife, and the kid can all take a nap on it at the same time. Used it to replace my couch.
I've never found any of these things comfortable except the LoveSac, which is lightyears beyond simple bean bag furniture. I didn't get to try a SUMO this year because, honestly, there was never one open when I would walk by them.

re: the cost. Ripstop stain/spillproof nylon is expensive, particularly the thick stuff that Sumo uses - believe me, these things take more abuse than you realize over the course of teardown and none have ripped yet (during teardown, at least - one ripped during PAX 08). Combine that with the Styrofoam (good quality EPS beads are expensive) and the fact that they ship for free... it's a hell of a deal.

My Visa card got stolen the other day. Now it's everywhere I want to be.
turns out they are on sale for $149 each and free shipping.
win!
They have a SUMO store at the mall near here. I don't think I'm any more likely to buy one than I was before. I don't really have room for one, and I would just as soon lay in my bed.
But these things rock, and I definitely spent a good amount of time off my feet in the handheld lounges.

Some friends went in that store on a different trip to the mall than when I saw it, and said that they weren't up to snuff compared to the SUMOs. Doesn't matter to me either way, since getting it home would be a pain in the ass from the mall to Savannah, having to ship it myself and all. I do really want a SUMO, though, and have since long before getting to sit in one for 15 minutes in one of the handheld lounges this year. Those 15 minutes just ensured that I'll be out the cost of at least one, if not two, SUMOs in the relatively near future (whenever I can afford it).
Hm.. Just loaded up the SUMO site, and it looks like the Omni plus and the SumoSac are the same price... I think if I get one soon, I'll get the Omni plus, since it's still re-positionable.
I picked up a green Omni after PAX 07, to go with the DS Lite. It just isn't quite the same as the handheld lounge, but on a sunny afternoon, it's pretty nice anyway :-)
Now I just need 50 other PAX goers to Pictochat with and I'll be happy as can be.

which are fucking awesome and worth the extra cost over the regular sumo.
LoveSac and Sumo Sac are the same thing ;-)
But yes, they are better then the regular sumos.

Now I'll have to make one and see what it costs.

I've always wanted one, but the shipping to Canada was always a deal breaker.

Yeah pretty much. Maybe next year if I drive down alone I might be able to just buy a couple and take them back.
