Taking grd12 Math... in university

Ok so I've been wanting to change majors lately, and I took the plunge and I did, from Poli Sci to Marketing. I need a grade 12 credit for Math, specifically Calculus (in some sort of weird adult high school that's not my university).

Help H/A! I really hated math in high school and there was a very good reason I didn't take it (in Ontario math is only mandatory up to grd11), any tips on making them any easier?

Also trouble is; I'm in year 3 in university, I'll still get my bachelor's in Poli Sci since I'm taking the necessary courses, but I hate math! Gaaaah. I know I'm trying to take the easy way out but does anyone know a Canadian way around it?

Go to a used bookstore, find yourself some old first year algebra and calculus textbooks. Buy those. Read, study, and do the exercises in those. Then challenge the class and get the credit.

    Done and done.

Ask around and find out what teacher is going to make it possible for someone who hates math to get a good grade. When I was in college I had a teacher who based most of our grades on essays about important mathematicians—you probably want someone like that. Liberal art students will probably know who to talk to.

Funny thing, going back to maths after a few years out of HS, suddenly its all rather easy. Just give it a shot, I guarantee the quality of the lessons will be better and you will probably feel more comfortable.

You know, unless you self-sabotage by constantly telling yourself that you hate maths and suck at it. That really won't help.
