I'm not too picky on how it sounds, and even the "2.1" part doesn't need to be fulfilled because I'm not sure I need the subwoofer. Any help would be great!
So if I wanted to utilize both my TV's, 360's, and Macbooks optical outputs, plug them into a single unit, and connect whatever speakers i want to it, I'd need to buy a full-size receiver.
20 bucks and fantastic for the price. I personally really like Logitech speakers (using 5.1 right now from them) and from what I can tell from the 78% 5 star reviews from newegg that these are at least very decent speakers.

I'm going to just point this out, that $20 pair usually sells for $30+ in stores and they are a hell of a lot better than the speakers that come with a PC.
Don't worry, I'm not an audiophile (my fault, not yours). I have really piss poor speakers right now and just needed a decent replacement, nothing special. Thanks for the wide variety of suggestions, though, they're all appreciated! :-)
I should also note that I like the ones he recommended because they seemed smaller, which is helpful considering I'm in a cramped situation.

$100 is cheap for speakers in my opinion and these sound fantastic for the price.

These are even better if you can find them for sell some where.

They are godly for the price, albeit slightly larger than most multimedia speakers. SPDIF in as well if your sound card or mobo has digital out.

People who buy $20 speakers know jack shit about good sound, and I fully expect their reviews to reflect that.
But. he. asked. for. cheap. speakers.
Dumbass.
That being said my sister has a Creative Labs 2.1 set she bought for $30 that sounds amazing.
This isn't it but I remember loving these back when I worked at CompUSA:

$35, and you can remove the stand and wall mount them, even with something as simple as a thumbtack, which is really cool.

He's 100% right. You can get "good speakers for $20". You cannot get "good speakers" for $20
The cheapest I would ever consider going if I still hoped for decent sound is $60ish
