Holloween, and the getting of costumes...

So, my wife is planning on taking me to a holloween party this year and I personally find several holloween costumes to be "blegh"... However, she suggested one that if I did it I would want to to it right...

So, it's September and if I want to get the items I need to start looking into specifics now... Her suggestion?

Indiana Jones...

So, the jacket would be gotten from here, this is the company who makes the jacket, and that is the jacket... Now, I'm sure some of you folks have looked into this type of thing for fun, so I'm curious, what issues might I run into in ordering this thing from the UK... It's listed at 165GBP, which according to an exchange site is about 250USD, is that right? Any issues with US Customs I should be weary of? Your body measurement methods are the same right? (I only ask because some shoes have that UK vs US size guide inside....) Any of you guys aware of a place in the Us I can get it? If I ordered from the UK, what would be the expected shipping time?

The next component is the hat. The only place I can seem to find the right grade of hat is from ThinkGeek, but I was wondering if there's a slightly more authentic version I can buy, sinc I don't like the Indy pin on the hat, or that it says Indy inside the hat.... We're going to authentic here kids...

The next component is the whip, that I have no idea where to get it... Getting an actual whip would most likely be an unwise idea as it might leed to unfortunate shinanigans... But again, we're shooting for authentic, and I have no idea where to begin looking for the whip...

Edit: I've decided authentic may not be the best option fo the whip, after some brief research I've fond that the company who amkes them was Davd Morgan, and they range between $735-$1010, which is waaaay outside my price range. However, the goal should be to find a whip of similar consturction.

Now, those are the three main components that identify the man, pants and shirt though I have no idea how to approach, so advice on that would be nice...

While the custome may not be original, since it is my opinion that I can pull it off properly, and the jacket and hat are something I can wear of other occasions, it's my opinion that aside from "bragging rights" that it's worth the money...

More importantly, my wife has given her approval for me to do this, which means I need not worry about the money much, as she feels that if I bought authentic components, I look damn fine...

If you want a 'real' whip, then there are any number of stores like this selling them, scroll to the bottom of the page they make a whip with the same pattern as the classic indiana jones bullwhip.

After further study we've noticed that we need the satchel and gun holster too... The gun we'll get a kids revolver and put it in the holster...

The biggest issue we're having is shirt, pants and belts (He wears two)

If you do a Google search for "khaki shirt" or "khaki safari shirt" or "khaki fatigue shirt" you will find many shirts that will fit the bill. As long as you have front pocket flaps and shoulder epaulettes you should be pretty close to the original.

You can get a khaki long sleeve here (not pictured), that looks like it would be pretty close.
