PS3 not sending signal through AV cables...

So i bought a HD LCD Television, set up my PS3 with new HD cables. All was good. Problem is i dont have my HD cable any more so ive been trying to run it through the tv with the standard AV cables. I plug it all in and theres no picture displayed. Is this because the system is still set to run in HD and it cant send HD through the AV cables? Or should the system be able to detect that there are AV cables plugged into it?

Is your tv set to the proper input setting? It'll be a different one since you're not using hd.

Well what I'm saying is on the TV itself theres normally an input option. Where you'll switch from HDMI to AV1/2 etc.

Yeah ive tried switching through all of them. Not working. Im going out to buy a HD cable. Hopefully its the AV cables that just can send a signal, and not a busted PS3. I LOST MY RECIEPT!!!

Hold the power button for 5 secs or so when you turn on the system and that'll reset your video settings to default.

For the record, what this was was that the PS3 was trying to output in HD and not SD, but you only had the SD cables in.
