Knee Wound

So I cut my knee open last night falling and tripping in the rain like an idiot. There's a relatively large scrape, but its not very deep and I doubt I need stitches. I have it bandaged right now and I cleaned it all up yesterday. My question is, there seems to be a lot of hair around my knee area and when I went to check today, some of it is in the wound. But the thing is, I think its growing out of it like it was part of that section of my knee. What should I do about this? Should I remove the hair or will it heal fine as it is?

Just let it do its thing. If the scrape isn't very deep, the hair is probably still attached. The body is well prepared to deal with things like that, so don't go poking around and making things worse.

For credentials, I have very hairy legs/knees, have cut/scraped the shit out of them, and never had to do anything special for wound hair.

Clean the wound with Betadine (1-2% iodine solution), and look for signs of infection, such as pussy discharge or dark reddening around the would site.

My guess is that you will heal just fine.

Yeah, just keep it clean and dry and you'll be fine. Wash with warm soap and water, neosporin if you've got it, cover with clean gauze or similar. If you use an adhesive bandage, make sure to let it air out or it will get all gross.
