Handhelds on Virtual Console?

I would buy a lot of old Gameboy games, such as Link's Awakening, Kirby, or Metroid 2. Hell even some Game Gear for you Sega players out there. I mean why limit VC to just home consoles when there is such a wide market for old handhelds?

Personally, if I had my pick I would chose Pokemon. It was one of my favorite franchises from when I was younger. All 150 (Mew was added later) on my red AND blue editions. I couldn't wait to play my first time around. I chose Charmander and never looked back.

Although nothings been officially said, it seems to be the general consensus that the next Nintendo handheld, whether that be the next refresh of the current DS hardware or the DS 2, will likely feature some kind of internal memory and wireless connectivity to buy and download the handheld version of the Virtual Console. The financial opportunities definitely seem to great to ignore.

    The DS has this.

They release a storage device compatible with the DS card slot, and you're in business.

The Wii and the DS are both printing money as it is, I'd be interested to see where Nintendo can go from here.

Nintendo will create their own currency, which will, of course, be of a higher market value than the American Dollar. Millions will exchange their life savings to Nintendo Bucks.

I am seriously considering investing in Wiis, what with the holidays approaching.

Of course, the last I heard, the going rate was one life = 100 coins, so we can probably start tallying up where we stand...

So with the recent announcements of the conference this looks like it may happen.

But just for the DS, did I hear them right?
