Well Watchmen has been the apple of comic collectors eyes for sometime now. When my Dad went to see The Dark Knight the trailer interested him, and he wanted to further poke his interest by reading the comic. He plowed through the book in a week (which with his work schedule, and load is quite the feat), and now wants more. I've got him reading Y: The Last Man, and The Long Halloween at the moment which he seems to love. I was thinking about mixing it up, and throwing him Grimm Fairy Tales, and Shadowpact. Good idea?
Anyone else have an experience where Watchmen became the Catalyst for a fervent comic book obsession?
Change the thread title to 'Gateway comics' and we're probably good though.
Personally, I don't see how you can get much enjoyment out of the watchmen without already being a comics fan. Most of the book is playing off 80's superhero stereotypes and culture.
