    Sigh. I hate old media.

We had some murders here in Sweden a while back. This was big in media since two young children were murdered and the mother ended up in a coma for months.

In Sweden the preliminary investigation of a crime is a public document. You can go to the courthouse, pay about 20 dollars for an administrative fee, and then get the preliminary investigation printed and mailed to you.

This 2700-page document included a handful of autopsy pictures of the children.

This document got scanned and appeared on the pirate bay. See where this is heading yet?

Less than 100 people downloaded the document. Then media got wind of it, smelled a good outrage, and whipped up some canned media frenzy.

Suddenly the download counter went over 100,000.

Lots of people apparently lost their minds and capability of coherent thought and are now baying for the heads of the TPB guys. Lots of "How could they? Think of the children!"

Not once have I seen anyone except for TPB people and Pirate Party members look at it from the proper view: TPB didn't publish this document. TPB didn't include the images of dead autopsied children. The court did.

Gah. I hate people. "It should be illegal to download this public document!"

    My friend wrote more.

Guh, I was sitting at my desk when suddenly a spider appeared. It dropped off the desk and I can’t get it to a place where I can smash it. Moves incredibly fast, too.

I just finished reading Choke a few days ago. I liked it. But I can see a lot of similarities between Choke and Fight Club and get the impression the author just likes writing about the same shit again and again.

I need some good book suggestions. Right now I'm reading the entire Sherlock Holmes collection.

Also, is the original S.T.A.L.K.E.R. for $19.99 a good buy from Steam? I mean, the retail is 20 bucks as well, but is there any reason I shouldn't get the Steam version? Or the game at all? I heard it's good. Is it? Is it good?

STALKER is flawed, but damn good.

Just don't let the first zone put you off. The difficulty starts high and then lowers a bit when you get better gear.

I'd actually like to read Battle Royale, but it's not available via Kindle, or I'd like to find and re-read Hell: A Cyberpunk Thriller which is one of my favorite fucking sci-fi/cyberpunk novels and one that I think nobody has actually read since it is based on the computer game. It is far, far better than the game itself, though.
