Long story-short, I have a perfectly good 4 year old Asus W3V, good except for the power. One night ac plug melts stuck into the DC-IN on the laptop. Once I get the plug removed, I see that the insides are destroyed. No power, battery is dead, with no way to recharge.
So:
I have here the extracted motherboard and screen, with all cables/screws/etc. I'm hoping I can use the parts in some crazy project to insert it into my car, or build into a wall or something nuts. Problem is I need power to the unit.
Any ideas? My roadblock right now seems to be replacing the DC-IN (9 wire rainbow connecting the DC-IN to the motherboard) with some other power connection. I can get the ac adapter online for ~$30, but before I do, I want to see if there is hope.
Thanks in advance for the assistance! I'll post more pics if necessary.
Make a Tetris shape out of a material, plastic, light metal whatever. Then Google to see if anyone has made a Tetris block case mod computer/laptop/novelty electronic appliance.
