Training camp is around the corner, and a new NHL game just came out so its that time of year to make a hockey thread.

Detroit are the defending champions and look pretty good this year as well by re-signing their players and adding Hossa. That doesn't really mean much though because a lot of teams are on the up and up. There will be a lot of teams with really good young players that can push them into the post season, how far into it, only time will tell.
This new NHL is pretty awesome. They have refined the skill stick again, and this time have added more defensive capabilities which is a really nice feature. The best part though is...
BE A PRO
In this you can make your virtual self, and start in the lowly ranks of the AHL. By impressing the coach and GM you can move up to an NHL team and play with your favourite superstars. It's pretty good alone but playing with people online is the best.
ONLINE BE A PRO
You take that virtual self you have made offline and start a club with a bunch of your friends to face other clubs from around the world. You can play 2 vs 2 all the way up to 6 vs 6, with everyone taking control of a player.
I am down for making a Club team to take on people on live. Or just playing with people. I can make a list of Live names and such

no see the difference between that goal and the toews goal is nash's ends in luck.
at the end the goalie actually saves it but bounces back to him and he can tap it in.
where as toews had control start to finish.
plus he was only against 2 opposing players not 3

The Caps are coming to town in about a month to play the Coyotes, so I'm going to go check them out.
I used to follow the Sabres religiously but the past few years kind of fell out of love with hockey. I was watching the playoffs last year with my new HDTV and fell in love again. Unfortunately, not only do I have the ever-hapless Sabres but the local team, if I ended up supporting them, is the even more hapless Coyotes.
Consider yourself lucky. You might as well just go to a girls Hockey game if you go watch the pre-season.

Oilers are going to be great fun to watch this year. If the kids can keep it together from last year, and Visnovsky turns out the way he's supposed to it will be epic. Probably one of the most improved teams over the off-season, IMO.
