So after hearing some stuff on McCain's history on tv, I became curious and thought about looking up their histories in the senate. However, this is a LOT of bullshit out there this close to the election, so does anyone have advice one where I could find a record of their history in the Senate that isn't bogged down by partisan rhetoric and bickering?

    Obama and McCain.

They're just straight up lists of voting records, so the information you're looking for may be hidden in a lot of other stuff, but it won't be biased. This is just a Yes/No/Not voting list.

votesmart.org is a collection of voting records so you can see what they actually voted, and what they didn't vote on -- it seems unbiased in that I think it's just records without opinions, but I could be wrong

Yeah, VoteSmart is a good nonpartisan resource. For a little more context, I recommend a series of posts at the blog Obsidian Wings — the author is an Obama supporter but gives what I think is a pretty thorough and largely neutral assessment of the two men's legislative records in the 109th and 110th Congresses.
