[Halloween On] Science Fiction Costume?

Sup H/A

I'm going to be attending a halloween party this year and for once it requires a costume - the theme is either a Disney character or Science Fiction. Bit of a strange combination, really.

Anyway, a few of my friends are going as Star Wars characters and that seems a little dull to me (I'm not really a big fan, anyway) so I need an idea for something else to go as.

Could anyone help out? Preferably something that's not going to cost me more than £100... it's only Halloween.

You could always be rebellious, put on a hunter's outfit, and go as Elmer Fudd.

For scifi, put on a suit, make a fake FBI badge, and go as Agent Mulder.

    Where black shirt and trousers.

Print off the star wars intro text, yellow on black.

    Pin to shirt.

Now you can introduce all your friends to everyone you meet.

    Aren't they Warner Brothers?

For Disney you're going to have to go Buzz Lightyear.

Or a Storm Trooper wearing Mickey Mouse ears.

eh, i kind of read 'disney' as 'cartoon'. Buzz Lightyear would be awesome, but complicated.

That is pretty hilarious and I might do that if nothing better is suggested. :D

Cat: Yeah Buzz Lightyear sounds like it'd be pretty complicated. I don't think any Disney stuff is very viable. Plus my jaw isn't square enough. D:

I've already suggested to one friend to go as Arthur Dent.

    Peter Pan is Disney right?

Then go as Captain Hook as played by Dustin Hoffman

    - Fish stuck in ear

Huh. I think I came to work today as Arthur Dent.

Buzz Lightyear might be difficult, but just a generic Space Ranger might be fun. I've thought about it before.

However, the bolded bit above is PERFECT. Holy hell.

I'm going to try and be Tony Stark. There's a bunch of make your own arc reactor tutorials out on the web.

This is what I want to do:

edit: spoilered because it's quite large looking at it here.
    IMG_2553.JPG

Going to be really tough, though. Need a mic and a battery-powered amp.

    "IGNORE ME!"

Edit again: if female, Cruella DeVille.

It's harder to do than you might think. Getting the smaller tank top is a pain, and to do it *right* there's alot of mods to be done to the BDU pants and top. I put together a passable bsg crewman costume for like $20 a few months ago - gray tank, black "Racerback" tank worn backwards, green pants I already had.

    Besides, as of S4..
Apollo isn't military anymore, so an accurate apollo costume is a suit. :P

No I actually don't mean *be* Apollo. I consider halloween more enjoyable when I'm wearing the costume rather then being the character. So I'm suggesting that he be a Galactica crewman over being Apollo.

And this is halloween not cosplay, no need for total accuracy.

Considering how big-a fan my friend is of BSG that would be pretty good.

We'll have to see if I can find a small tank top...

I'm thinking it could work even better if he slowly pulled it out of his pants. But pinned to the shirt is elegantly simple.
