Yeah, really if you want to enjoy a good game it is not too late to go back and play one of the older games that were actually made by Team Silent. Then you can get a good feel for the series. I just hope the Americans don't fuck this up. USA USA
Alone in the Dark does a lot of things really well, and a lot of things really badly, so much so that it's tough to appreciate anything it successfully achieves.
The PS3 version is coming out this fall (can't recall exactly when) and will be fixing a LOT of the issues and should make it a pretty solid title. What isn't usually said is that the 360 version will be getting these fixes through a patch around the same time. If it's $9 then (or remotely in my budget), i'll be grabbing it for sure.

I liked it better when it was Silent Hill V, but I think they renamed it so Team Silent can still save the series if these guys screw it up(highly likely).
It's not a bad Silent Hill game, but it takes after SH2 a little too much
Is that a bad thing?
I still haven't played 0rigins yet.

But I don't want Silent Hill 2's concept to be aped over and over in every subsequent SH game. The template of disturbed/unreliable protagonist + dark family secret + ominous punishment demon is getting stale now
Silent Hill 2 and Silent Hill 4 are both backwards compatible with the 360. They are also the only Silent Hill games available for the XBox.
I haven't played SH4 and while I hear it's okay it is considered weaker than the others and it wasn't even a SH game for a while during development.
Meanwhilst, Silent Hill 2 is generally considered the best game of the series and the XBox version even has better graphics than the PS2 version as well as a few other little things added to it.
But it's easy to fan-rationalize somebody like PH into another game, since James based him on a figure in Silent Hill's history, and another person knowledgeable enough could manifest a PH-like figure into their own experience
It makes sense that the PH in this game looks different from SH2's, since: different people, different psyches
I'm not going to make excuses for the developers if this turns out to be another "I created this demon to punish myself!" thing, like with The Butcher

The ending of the first Silent Hill movie is almost a perfect setup for a direct adaptation of Silent Hill 2.

wam joke
Oh I think you know all too well, Black Bolt
This basically. I am also dying to get my hands on the soundtrack.
The only problem is that the fucking date keeps changing for the pal release, so I'm pretty sure I can't play this until November.
it's so cute
So that's why you consider these games so horrifying
Minor spoilers if you don't wanna know what one of the bosses looks like
Looking good (if not a little confusing with that level design) despite the life bar.
So....Alone in the Dark for ten bucks?
This may be a good appetizer...
I liked it better in previous games, when you got visual clues or the rumble would start to pulse
Still too overpriced

I am too much of a baby
I hate escorting.
SH4's escorting was awful
Is that a bad thing?

This is the best thing about DDR Supernova. (It's a playable song, including a custom video.)

I want something new and fresh and engaging
is that too much to ask
Fuck.
I mean with any luck they will slightly change some meaningless crap and it will be re-classified, but still.
Before anyone suggests it, you cannot import games that have been refused classification.
Can't afford them, but the option exists.
Yes.

Until you're playing Bruce Willis looking for Mila Jovovich.
...which is great because now they can find a more talented writer
Did I miss something?

Easily the best part of the film.
Well, either that or
