I heard about this yesterday. Can they do this legally? As long as they're not selling it? Sounds a little suss to me.

They look like they're really ratcheting the puzzle complexity up.

    That, or they're showing off.

And don't forget Valve are pretty much the greatest games company in existence. So long as you're not trying to dick them around or profit from their stuff they'll encourage you.

We have a bunch of Portal People over here :winky:

I didn't read everything but I don't really understand their worry about legal troubles considering that they're making a mod... like everyone else does ...

Has it really been so long since somebody's done something like this that people think it's illegal?

I found the trailer kind of underwhelming. I mean, if you're going to put an emphasis on storytelling in your mod, then why not push the fact in the trailer. Focusing on the puzzles made it look like another level pack.

So no one else will mention it? That's some Linkin Park in the trailer.

More importantly however, it looks really intriguing but I don't know how I feel about fan-made plot, or even fan-made maps for that matter.

It hasn't been long at all, mod makers are always adding on unofficial stuff to games and series.

If Valve were that frigging stupid they never would have hired Adam Foster.

I expected this thread to be about Narbacular Drop.

Also free - it's the game the Portal creators made at DigiPen, if you didn't already know.

Looking for a DX:HR OnLive code for my kid brother.
Can trade TF2 items or whatever else you're interested in. PM me.

That would be my guess. Now I need to get out of the military to attend Digipen. My wife and kids won't be too pleased.

Without fan-made maps, we wouldn't have the nifty game featured in your sig, along with many other games (including some of Valve's most popular).
