But it's not
It's a cartoon animated with Halo
Hell RvB barely even makes any connections with Halo
I think the only reference to the games was an early mention of Master Chief blowing everything up
After that it was all original
And 1-800-MAGIC
But that's not what this thread is about anymore
Now it's about the war on drugs, as seen in THE WIRE
GREATEST FUCKING SHOW EVER
HOLY BALLSACK
maybe you should wear the captain's hat since you seem to be steering this thread
oh wait
what's this on my head
wiggin please read what it says on the front of this thing on my head
*looking at a newly-delivered tank*
Tucker: "I take back what I said before, we can definitely pick up chicks in this thing."
Church: "Listen to YOU. What are you gonna do with two chicks?"
Tucker: "Church, women are like Voltron. The more you can hook up, the better it gets!"
That line is the reason I first looked that show up. There was an article about the series in EGM and I just had to see if the thing was any good. Still probably my favorite quote.

I never actually saw an RvB until the first PAX. Then I followed it faithfully for a while, then just kinda forgot about it. I need to get caught up again because it was incredibly entertaining.
I recently ordered a box set of all 5 seasons of RvB, I haven't even seen seasons 3-5
And I already had seasons 1 and 2 on DVD
It was kind of an impulse purchase, so I hope I don't regret it, I guess I'll give away my duplicate copies of the first 2 seasons
My wife somehow has become a huge Halo fan so she enjoys watching it as well
Also I saw the guys who made it when they came down here last year as well, at the Armageddon Expo, unfortunately they lost their shipment of merchandise or I probably would have got the DVDs then
Episode 16 of RvB: Reconstruction has been released and it's got some serious plot-bombs within as Agent Washington explains what he knows about the origin of the Freelancer AIs to Church, an explanation that'll probably make one see not just Reconstruction but the original RvB series in a new light.
Halo does not lend it self to being an MMO at all. You know what I want? A film noir, desaturated MMO where you go around rescuing dames and breaking up organized crime-rings in a hard-boiled manner.

Yep, looks like World of Warcraft with a Halo skin, what a fucking surprise
Edit: Although I do like the style they were going for in the concept art, shame they didn't follow that through into the game by the look of it
When exactly was it that MMOs all became the same game with a different skin? Surely there is nothing inherent in the idea of a persistent world game that means we have to play from a third person view and talk to guys with exclamation marks above their heads and grind mobs or whatever
Edit: Kantankeris, that is the second great game idea I have seen from you this week, we should team up and make a game

When exactly was it that MMOs all became the same game with a different skin?
When WoW utterly smashed all previous MMO subscription numbers, and then proceeded to triple in size on top of that, effectively BECOMING the genre.
EDIT: Also, in regards to the most recent episode
I'm calling bullshit on Washington; for two reasons. One, as seen with O'malley, not having a body to go into is supposed to KILL AI's; they don't get to float around waiting for a new body to pop up. Secondly, how the fuck would he have known that, when O'malley jumped into Church's body, Churches reaction didn't change. He wasn't there, and I'm pretty sure noone had any reason to ever mention it.
Something's up. Or the writers just fucked up. Could be that too.
EDIT2:
Also, if Church is supposedly the Alpha; what does that make Tex, who had the same ability as him
Yep, looks like World of Warcraft with a Halo skin, what a fucking surprise

So Blizzard killed the genre, thanks guys
So are there any MMOs on the horizon that are actually trying to do anything different? At least the likes of APB and that spy one are going for different themes, but that's not to say they'll do anything new with the gameplay

I think there was a zombie one coming out that I was interested in, because it looked like you needed other people in order to survive
Like, all these people who develop, from scratch, their specialties and come together to form a settlement
And you all rely on each other as you try to survive the zombie apocalypse

that all sounds REALLY GAY if you haven't watched it ever/since the first season.

see, what I don't get about this complaint whenever I hear it is that it's never clear what you people think needs to change to make it different enough that you don't just see it as reskinned wow
I mean, it seems like you see anything where you run around in a multiplayer world with a first/third person perspective and fight stuff is automatically a wow derivative

It just feels to me like there is so much potential in the idea of a persistent world visited by thousands of people that isn't realized. I mean, I haven't put any large chunk of time into any MMO so perhaps I'm not seeing it all, but to me any WoW type MMO is just a watered down RPG with enemies that have so many hitpoints you need a group to take them down. There's probably more there than that, but it's not for me I guess.
And I'm not trying to say that the current style isn't valid, there are obviously a lot of people who enjoy it, I just wish some one would try something a bit different, make something that makes use of the community a bit better to change the gameworld as time goes by.
I think I'm still just nostalgic for the dreams I had when I was a kid of what a persistent world game would be like, everybody in character and carving out their own space in the world, as opposed to what we have now which to me seems like a bunch of 15 years old jumping around spouting gibberish about mobs and dots and everybody has the exact same experience.

Everyone goin' on about how it's the best show ever actually makes me want to see it less, really
There's no way it could be that good
PSN ID : DetectiveOlivaw | TWITTER | STEAM ID | NEVER FORGET
also, their webcomic based on them sucks too.
really, it just sucks now.
You're a terrible fucking person and I hope you get AIDS
But why they have cultivated this huge, and rather unusual fanbase, peering into every minutiae of the plot, the 'lore' and the 'canon' is beyond me.
It's a fucking guy in a space suit shooting aliens. Literally that is what 96% of the game entails.
Also I hate machinima. nearly all of it is the game equivalent of an AMV.

I really didn't like anything after that. Every now and then I'd try to watch some of the later seasons and just couldn't.
Wish I had liked them though. Still have season 1 on DVD somewhere.

Coran Attack!
Did you mean: captain?

looks like Ensemble were making a Halo MMO before they got kicked in the face
that sounds like an awful idea
As well as the RTS? Thank god it got cancelled then, we don't need any more MMOs
We don't need most of the ones we already have, in fact
a lot more concept stuff here:http://kotaku.com/photogallery/halommoconcepts/

Seriously, its' a game about space marines versus aliens; not Lord of the Rings.
I would suck a thousand dicks for this
guys let's get a dick sucking petition going
just pledge how many dicks you'd suck
