hey, i've been doodling on a sketch of my shadowrun character (just started playing last week with some dudes on the forum) and i have been running into some tough spots.
chicoblue already helped me a lot with the face and hands, but i am terribly out of practice with drawing people, and i would love it if you guys could put your collective awesome might towards helping me improve this in any way.
i'll take any advice/sketch overs you guys feel generous enough to send my way
the red arrows point to areas that i think i really need help with
notes:
-not sure about the positioning og the eyes themselves, and the iris/pupil part i have sketched in right now is in no way final, i just wasn't sure what i was going to have her be looking at yet, but blank eyes bother me
I'm usually not a great source of advice but it does seem like something is off with the face. Maybe it's the difference between the pupils themselves, but hey, it's Shadowrun. For all I know one of them shoots laser beams. The only other thing I see that might be a problem is her hairline. It's seems somewhat unsymmetrical.
The feet and jacket seem like you're getting close to nailing them and I don't see what's wrong with her thumb.
She seems to be shooting one way and looking another
The head is misplaced on the neck
The thighs are gigantic
The legs seem to come straight out of the waist rather than the hips
Well the biggest problem i have is the balance of the drawing. It's like she's leaning way back but if she was actually doing that she'd fall right over. Try doing it, you'll end up on your ass.
If you flip the canvas you can notice these kinds of problems better. Proportion and anatomy errors are easier to see once you flip the image.
Here you'll notice that her eyes are all outa whack and she's about to fall over.
I did a quick drawover to show how she can be balanced out a bit better.
Now the weight is centered over her feet (i hope) and she's not in danger of falling over.
Of course if you want her to be flying backwards she could be, but it doesn't really make sense if she's squatting.
There's also a few anatomical errors that i fixed, like her eyes and her arms (they were different sizes the far one was longer than the close one.)
Something that would make this look more realistic would be taking into account how you would actually shoot in a crouching position like that.
They're huge hand guns, which always have a lot of recoil since they're high calibre and have a light weight. and she's holding two. so, her back would be slanted like you and Tam drew from taking the force
the problem with balance that dee lock is talking about would be corrected by her leaning more on her back foot. Also, spread the feet apart just a little so that she can be leaning on the back more
Just a note, the facial expression is incredibly static.

the arms were two different lengths as well.

My only suggestion would be that having both arms locked at the elbows makes the pose a little bit stiff.
but, I just pasted a bunch of your avs together so that they'd dance together, and um, they yell AIDS at me
wait
what
I haven't used the version that flashed AIDS in a long time.
I guess it's what PA has saved as your av
huh
