So, I just recently cancelled my Netflix account, and instead, I'm going to make use of my local library. One thing I loved about Netflix was the "You might also like..." recommendations, and going 3 or four layers into those to find really wild movies that I've never heard of. Since I no longer have access to that, is there a website that has a similar feature? IMDB's recommendations seem pretty poor, especially compared to what Netflix did. Thanks
I found the best way was to look for genre, say, "British gangster movies" then take the results to IMDB and read the reviews, check the score, trivia, etc. This is more work than letting a site just pick for you, but you can find some great stuff this way. "The Long Good Friday" Is an example, a movie I found using this system. It was great, ***
just post your last four movies here that you liked and i am sure as a collective "we" we will make things up!
strangely the best way i find movies is to read roger ebert reviews. for some bizarre reason, if i read a review (music or movie) i have damn near 100% word for word retention (not when I read anything else though). reviews stick with me when I am looking at dvds to get and i base them off the reviews (not is it good or is it bad, but more like this movie was attempting this or succeeded at this type reviews)
